Financial Planning & Analysis Analyst
(Permanent position)
The Financial Planning and Analysis Analyst position is responsible for analysing financial data to uncover trends, variances, and key performance drivers. The Analyst plays a critical role in supporting financial planning and strategic decision-making by delivering accurate reporting, budgeting, and forecasting. Through strong business partnering and collaboration with stakeholders, the Analyst ensures clear communication of financial performance and identifies opportunities to enhance business outcomes.
The Financial Planning and Analysis Analyst will be reporting to the Senior Commercial Analyst. This post is based at Goodwood.
Principal Accountabilities:
Performance Monitoring
- Prepare local monthly management accounts and other financial reports.
- Assist with preparation and review group management accounts.
- Monitor financial performance across various business units and prepare regular updates and reports on financial performance.
Financial Planning:
- Compile budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial plans.
Financial Analysis:
- Conduct detailed analysis of financial data to identify trends, variances, and key performance metrics.
- Assist in analysing business performance by gathering and organizing data to support insights and decision-making.
- Conduct margin analysis to identify trends and variances.
- Analyse cost drivers.
- Assist in assessing the financial impact of strategic initiatives.
- Provide data and analysis to support financial strategies.
- Assist in identifying operational improvements.
Financial Modeling:
- Build and refine dynamic financial models.
Financial Operations Support:
- Provide Africa Finance with relevant accruals, provisions and corrections journals.
Business Partnering and Stakeholder Engagement:
- Engage with stakeholders at all levels, building strong relationships and ensuring effective communication of financial insights.
- Support the Senior Commercial Analyst and Financial Director with ad hoc FP&A and Business Partnering responsibilities
Internal Control:
- Control environment; Identification and flagging of financial, operational and compliance business risks for implementation of appropriate applicable controls
Qualifications and Experience
- A bachelor's Commerce in Accounting or Finance (Honours degree in Accounting or Finance Advantageous)
- 4-5 years' experience in FP&A financial analysis, management accounting or a related finance role
- Studying towards the ACMA, CGMA (CIMA) qualification (Advantageous)
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis, financial modeling, and reporting.
- Strong financial modeling skills, including scenario analysis and valuation techniques.
- Experience in budgeting and forecasting, with the ability to manage and improve planning processes.
- Working knowledge of SAP for financial data extraction and reporting.
- Proficiency in Business Intelligence (BI) tools such as Qlik Sense, Power BI, or similar platforms for data visualisation and performance tracking.

Global Real Estate and Facilities (GREF) in the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) region manages an extensive corporate office portfolio encompassing approximately 10 million rentable square feet (RSF) spread over 43 countries, 86 cities, and 139 buildings. Currently, GREF's EMEA operations are organized into nine distinct areas to efficiently serve its diverse customer base, including various business teams, leaders, and vendors who utilize Amazon's corporate offices. Looking ahead to 2025, GREF plans to restructure its services to align more closely with major Amazon organizations such as AWS, Stores, Devices, and FGBS. This strategic realignment will consolidate the existing nine areas into five geographical regions or "Geos," mirroring the operational and reporting structures of Amazon's key business units.
Amazon's GREF team is seeking a Geo Strategist, a leader who will be expected to align real estate strategy to business needs in partnership with key GREF Stakeholders and maintain a customer centric approach. The role will partner with all Amazon teams and functions such as PP, PR, TRAD (Talent Research & Development), along with internal GREF teams, such as Global Business Partnering, Space and Occupancy planning, and Design and Construction, to support the implementation of workplace design, space, and strategic needs for the Geo in order to support business requirements. This role will support GEO 4: Sub-Saharan Africa, Israel, Mediterranean, which will oversee 7 countries, 9 cities, 13 buildings and 1.6MM RSF. This position requires the candidate to be based within this specific geo, facilitating direct and efficient support for GREF's operations in the region.
The optimal candidate is an experienced and engaging professional who will excel within an entrepreneurial culture - providing vision, leadership, and communication - not afraid to dive deep into details and take ownership. They should also understand the nuance of being approachable and consultative- providing direction/recommendations and fostering transparent relationships. The candidate must be able to balance frugality with creativity in offering solutions and approach problem-solving with an emphasis on root cause. An ideal candidate is able to navigate high level of ambiguity and demonstrate a bias for action, taking calculated risks in a fast-paced environment.

Key job responsibilities
- Develop and lead the implementation of strategic initiatives to support business requirements

The project manager role is a key role to support the COO and the delivery of projects across the business. The core aspect of the role entails managing and delivering projects which support the asset management and distribution entities in various local and international jurisdictions.
The role also includes oversight of the operational elements of the companies proprietary software as well as the management information that is provided to the business. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESKey Objective
The key objective is the development of analytics tools and strategies, as well as the improvement and extension of PRIME for the Credit Funds.
Quantitative Analysis:
- Assist in defining the PRIME framework and incorporate current analytics tools and reporting.
Develop processes and analytics tools to monitor model and portfolio performance and accuracy.
Research and develop models and techniques. - Document research, processes, and model validation.
Credit Research and Analysis:
- Apply established models to compute default probability scores. An analyst would be required to make an analytical argument on the change thereto over time, highlight downside risks for the foreseeable future, and rank & compare to industry peers.
- Use PIM sector-specific financial scorecards to analyse the creditworthiness of companies and their sub-factor drivers of the credit score, incorporating ESG analysis.
- Perform in-depth analysis and research to assess and monitor the creditworthiness of borrowers/issuers over the term of the exposure.
- Understand market dynamics (e.g., credit supply/demand) and company fundamentals influencing PIM’s credit investments.
Credit Management:
- Monitor the risk-adjusted return of the credit universe, build and oversee portfolio optimization models, and make recommendations to enhance credit portfolio performance.
- Engage in counterparty interactions as part of the role.
- Assess credit opportunities, including exposure to assets in Infrastructure Funds (monitoring and new opportunities).
Investment Analysis:
- Originate debt investments via new and existing borrowers, liaising with bond issuers, DCM teams, arrangers, and rating agencies.
- Provide input into the development of broader responsible investment policies, ESG methodologies, and impact strategies.
Credit Process Development and Advancement:
- Validate investment models and monitor portfolio performance and accuracy.
- Contribute to research and development of new models and techniques.
- Document research, processes, and model validation.
- Ensure the accuracy and currency of information used in the process.
