Unitrans is seeking to employ Professional Bus Drivers with proven experience at our Mega Bus Kathu depot. The role involves driving buses to transport passengers on scheduled routes, controlling lighting, heating, and ventilation for passenger comfort, and ensuring safety and punctuality. Candidates must hold the appropriate license and a PrDP.
This position is a restricted commercial contract not subsidized by the government.

Requirements
- Public Services Driving License (PG)
- Mastery of defensive and preventive driving techniques

Duties & Responsibilities
- Follow WSWPs procedures and company policies;
- Read and accept the code of conduct and passengers' rules;
- Understand and adhere to the driver's manual and regulations;
- Report near misses, incidents, and property damage;
- Practice safe driving habits and avoid involvement in incidents;
- Report incidents promptly to management;
- Inspect the vehicle for deviations or malfunctions and report issues;
- Participate in safety and training sessions;
- Register passengers and ensure vehicle cleanliness and refueling;
- Record and report all events and incidents during trips;
- Adhere to traffic laws, speed limits, and route instructions;
- Maintain logs and a positive attitude towards customers;
- Ensure vehicle security by removing keys after parking and using wheel chocks;
- Use seat belts and drive with a valid license and RAC2 card;
- Report vehicle damages and comply with collection times;
- Follow proper procedures for overtaking and stopping;
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12, with job-specific training
- Drivers license categories CE G, CE PG, and C G
- At least 5 years of relevant experience

Duties & Responsibilities

- Follow HST regulations and policies;

- Recognize the importance of safety and practice safe habits;
- Immediately report any incidents to management;
- Know all written procedures involved in activities;
- Inspect the bus for deviations or malfunctions;
- Record deviations/defects in the checklist and report to supervisor;
- Depending on the deviation/malfunction, either start the journey or not until resolved;
- Participate in DSS sessions with supervisor and HST at designated sites;
- Participate in training;
- Register passengers on trips;
- Ensure the vehicle is refueled and kept clean;
- Record and report events/incidents during trips;
- Adhere to traffic laws and SMS policy;
- Complete log books properly and keep activity logs;
- Maintain a positive attitude towards customers;
- Do not deviate from routes or operate under influence;
- Make stops only at authorized locations;
- Respect signage and speed limits;
- Remove keys after parking and control ignition responsibility;
- Start vehicles from inside the cabin;
- Use wheel chocks after parking;
- Use seat belts for driver and passengers;
- Drive with valid license and RAC2 card;
- Ensure vehicle conservation and report damages;
- Follow collection times;
- Avoid overtaking between Unitrans vehicles unless authorized;
- No stops after passenger unloading unless authorized.
