Purpose

The purpose of the Senior Scrum Master is to lead scrum teams in agile development and achievement of product goals, including defining and refining backlog items, planning and managing multiple feature developments, sprints/iterations, sprint reviews and retrospectives with the aim of delivering high-value increments that meet the Definition of Done. Stakeholder Management: Feedback and Reporting

• Drive team velocity and sprint progress with relevant stakeholders.
• Manage any issues that might affect the delivery of the team, removing barriers between stakeholders and the team.
• Implement the product definition, providing feedback on the user experience and user interface as part of the overlapping phase.

Qualifications and experience:

• Degree or Diploma in Information Technology or a related field – (essential).
• Scrum Master foundation certification (i.e., Certified Scrum Master / Agile Certified Practitioner / Professional Scrum Master) or relevant Scrum Master training - (essential)

• Identify, control and escalate potential risks which may lead to increased costs
• Manage costs or expenses within approved budget to achieve cost efficiencies

• Ensure the Product Owners know how to arrange the product backlog to maximise value

• Support Product Owner, and coach business on agile practices

• Ensure sufficient time is allocated to grooming and sprint planning
• Create an environment conducive to open communication
• Ensure business involvement at all stages of developments
• Identify training and development needs and pro-actively identify effective solutions to address own and employee development gaps
• Ensure that each employee prepares a personal development plan, review these plans and ensure implementation
• Create an environment conducive to cross-functional skills transfer
• Plan training interventions which support RMB and Group strategies
• Understand which competencies and skills are required to be mastered to ensure personal and employee development and performance
• Keep abreast of learning opportunities, changing products and trends
• Analyse the internal service delivery processes and comes up with innovative ideas and/or participate in working groups to improve and streamline processes, increase revenue, drive efficiencies and minimise redundancy and waste
• Monitor and control the quality of agile processes in terms of defined standards
• Assist development teams to create high-value products i.e. through visibility of sprint backlog or scrum board and an updated sprint burn down chart
• Facilitate scrum events as requested or needed
• Coach development teams in organisational environments in which scrum is not yet fully adopted and understood
• Recommend and implement improvements to the environment for Development Teams
• Facilitate Agile coaching sessions for business and IT
• Recognise areas for improvement and implementing improvements in collaboration with other Scrum Masters
• Provide updates to the business on the progression towards the desired maturity level

You Will Be An Ideal Candidate If You Have:

• 5+ years of hands-on experience as a Scrum Master / IT Project manager.
• Proven track record managing large-scale, cross-functional projects.
• Proven success in coaching cross functional teams.
• Experience with transformational programmes and SDLC frameworks.
• Familiarity with tools like Jira, Azure DevOps, and Confluence.

Skills & Competencies:

• Deep understanding of SDLC principles and IT Project management / Development practices
• Strong facilitation, conflict resolution, and servant leadership skills
• Ability to mentor juniors and lead by example
• Excellent communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skill
