The Sales Director will Drive the company’s growth in South Africa and will be responsible for leading commercial efforts. Minimum requirements :

  • Engineering / Science degree or alternatively Commercial degree at master’s level.
  • 8-10 years professional experience, Business Development experience on high value sales and contract negotiations in South Africa, ideally within the solar industry.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in Business Management or Project Development in C&I and / or utility scale Solar PV sector; ideally with a solar developer or EPC.

Responsibilities:

  • Market Entry Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive go-to-market strategy for Verto's continued expansion into South Africa, identifying key industries and business segments that would benefit from our payment and FX solutions.

  • Business Development: Lead the effort to achieve and exceed budgeted sales targets, driving onboarding and revenue growth. You will be responsible for achieving your own sales quota as an individual contributor, as well as that of your team.

    Job Overview

    We are looking for an experienced Sales Director to build and lead their ambitious sales team. Their goal is to hire up to 50 sales representatives and account managers over the next year. The ideal candidate will have a strategic mindset, a proven sales track record, and the ability to manage a diverse client base. This role is critical for driving revenue growth and maintaining relationships with our extensive customer network.

    Key Responsibilities

    1. Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies to optimize growth and customer retention among 30,000 clients.
    2. Lead, motivate, and manage the sales team to achieve and exceed sales goals.
    3. Establish strong relationships with key customers and stakeholders, ensuring high levels of satisfaction.
    4. Analyze market trends and customer needs to identify new business opportunities and tailor their offerings.
    5. Collaborate with marketing on campaigns to attract and engage new clients while retaining existing ones.
    6. Utilize CRM tools for tracking sales performance, managing customer interactions, and generating reports.
    7. Train and mentor sales staff on best practices, product knowledge, and effective selling techniques.
    8. Represent the company at trade shows and industry events to expand their customer base and enhance brand presence.

    Qualifications:

    1. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field.
    2. Minimum of 10 years of sales management experience in the promotional products or wholesale industry.
