Procurement Manager

We are seeking a Procurement Manager to oversee the procurement of equipment purchases for Engineering design phase 1 in our client's state-of-the-art solar PV systems. This role involves managing supplier relationships, ensuring competitive pricing, and timely delivery while adhering to the company's procurement quality policies. The ideal candidate will have a strategic approach to procurement, establishing long-term partnerships with trusted suppliers to secure optimal pricing agreements through bulk procurement.

Duties & Responsibilities

Responsibilities and Duties:
As the Procurement Manager, you will:

  1. Play a key role in vetting suppliers and subcontractors alongside the COO, ensuring compliance across all countries in Africa where installations are required.
  2. Maintain updated price lists for the Engineering Department to facilitate detailed project costing.
  3. Develop project Bill of Quantities (BOQ) in collaboration with the Engineering Department and handover procurement lists to the Project Management Department.
  4. Review project budgets and provide signatory approval on behalf of the Engineering Department.
  5. Monitor and drive credit applications with suppliers, negotiating favorable terms.
  6. Collaborate with key company stakeholders to determine product and service needs, monitoring business trends and product availability to secure the best prices without compromising quality or delivery times.
  7. Foster relationships with suppliers, negotiating optimal prices for company goods and services.
  8. Research and identify potential new suppliers and products to meet company goals.
  9. Assess total costs of company purchases and implement strategies for procuring, storing, and distributing products, including stock and inventory management.
  10. Ensure adherence to company ISO 9001 & 45001 Compliances across all branches in Africa.
