Key Responsibilities:

- Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex data.

The consultant will ensure that the project aligns with the Nagoya Protocol, the National Biodiversity Economy Strategy (NBES), and relevant South African environmental regulations, while promoting sustainable livelihoods and equitable benefit-sharing among local communities.
Scope of Work
The consultant will be required to:
- Develop ABS Agreements:
Draft and finalize ABS agreements ensuring compliance with local, national, and international policies. - Provide Technical Guidance:
Offer expert advice to ensure value chain development aligns with global and national best practices. - Ensure Compliance:
Verify adherence to the Nagoya Protocol, NBES, the National Environmental Management: Biodiversity Act (2004), and provincial conservation ordinances. - Facilitate Benefit-Sharing:
