Duties & ResponsibilitiesYour duties and responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:
- Perform aircraft maintenance in accordance with the aircraft’s approved maintenance data.
- Ensuring all parts and materials are airworthy and appropriate for their application.
- Reporting all defects or faults identified during maintenance of aircraft or aeronautical products to the allocated Maintenance Co-ordinator.
- Ensuring all certifications are made in accordance with the Aviair approved systems of certification.
- Possess minimum 2 years work experience as an AME, preferably with a sound knowledge of the Civil Aviation Regulations.
- Possess experience working on aircraft within our fleet or similar.
- Be highly motivated with a strong work ethic.
- Be able to work effectively as part of a tight knit team as well as independently in a fast-paced environment, able to problem-solve and provide concise recommendations.
- Be capable of multi-tasking and achieving goals and objectives.
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate across all levels.
- Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening (DAMP).
- Ability to obtain an ASIC.

Reporting to the Group Operations Strategy Manager, this position is required to provide effective support to the Operations & Maintenance teams, providing the necessary technical expertise and implementing appropriate actions to ensure efficient maintenance activities and enhancing overall plant reliability.

POSITION INFO:
CRITICAL PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES
- Enhancing the overall reliability and availability of the Operation and Maintenance contracts
- Providing Maintenance and equipment expertise
- Analysing equipment failure data and conducting Root Cause Analyses with the assistance of the Maintenance Teams
- Developing and Implementing procedures and processes to increase reliability
- Understanding the cost of equipment maintenance and developing reliable budget and forecasting
- Taking part design reviews to increase reliability of new plant/equipment
- Taking part in HAZOP studies to improve on maintainability of plants/equipment
- Tracking plant maintenance KPI’s and utilising Maintenance Data from the CMMS to inform strategies and tactics
- Provide leadership to enhance Maintenance Activities, Strategies and Tactics

About the Role
We are looking for a hands-on, solutions-driven Maintenance Engineer to oversee the effective functioning of all production equipment, utilities, and infrastructure at our Germiston facility. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and a proactive approach to equipment reliability, compliance, and performance optimization.
Key Responsibilities
Operational & Technical Oversight
- Supervise and coordinate all preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance activities.
- Ensure continuous operation of production systems , utilities, and infrastructure.
- Monitor equipment and plant performance , implement improvements, and reduce downtime.
- Supervise internal maintenance teams and manage third-party contractors as needed.
- Coordinate system shutdowns with production for scheduled maintenance or repairs.
