Systems Engineer - Linux

We are seeking a highly capable Systems Engineer to join our Infrastructure Services – Linux Administration team to support and enhance on-premises and cloud platforms and related core infrastructure services. This role is critical to ensuring secure, scalable, and efficient cloud and on-premises operations. The ideal candidate will bring Azure and / or Amazon Web Services ("AWS") expertise, a background in Linux server administration, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

• Manage and maintain Linux-based systems in Oracle Linux in on-premises, Azure, and AWS environments.
• Perform system updates, patching, and configuration management using tools such as Ansible or shell scripting.
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability of Linux services.
• Configure and manage services such as Secure Shell, NGINX / Apache, cron jobs, and system logging.
• Support the integration of Linux systems with Active Directory- and Azure-based identity services.
• Implement and support security best practices for Linux system hardening and vulnerability remediation.
• Participate in automation and orchestration of Linux workloads using infrastructure automation tools.
• Other duties as assigned

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, a related discipline, or the equivalent work experience.
• At least 5 years in system engineering, with at least 3 working in a cloud platform.
• At least 5 years of professional IT experience.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across cloud and on-premises technologies.
• Able to adapt to rapidly evolving technologies and apply them to business needs.
• Experience facilitating change management in enterprise environments.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to present ideas clearly and effectively.
• Strong collaboration skills across functional teams and organizational levels.
• Highly organized with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting.
• Azure and / or AWS certifications preferred.

MAIN JOB FUNCTIONS

Key Responsibilities

• Provide advanced technical support and root cause analysis for system outages and incidents.
• Manage Windows / Linux servers, Active Directory, Exchange 2019, Microsoft 365, and virtualization platforms (e.g., Nutanix).
• Maintain cloud infrastructure, especially in Microsoft Azure.
• Develop and maintain system documentation, architecture diagrams, and SOPs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend improvements to enhance system performance and security.
• Ensure compliance with IT policies, data protection, and regulatory requirements.
• Implement and enforce security policies, tools, and practices across infrastructure and endpoints.
• Monitor system and network logs for anomalies using various Analysis & EDR tools.
• Apply OS and application patches regularly and manage endpoint protection platforms.
• Enforce IAM policies including MFA, RBAC, and least-privilege access models.
• Support vulnerability assessments, audits, and regulatory compliance (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR).
• Design and maintain comprehensive backup strategies for physical, virtual, and cloud environments.
• Manage enterprise backup and recovery tools (e.g., Veeam).
• Schedule and monitor backup jobs, ensuring integrity, encryption, and successful replication.
• Perform regular testing of backup restores and disaster recovery (DR) plans to validate readiness.
• Lead incident response related to data loss, corruption, or ransomware events.
• Maintain documentation for backup policies, DR runbooks, and RTO / RPO objectives.
• Support business continuity planning and coordinate with stakeholders to ensure resilience.

• Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure).

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Embedded Systems Engineer with a strong foundation in both hardware design and firmware/embedded software development. You will be responsible for the full embedded product lifecycle—from circuit design, prototyping, and PCB development to real-time embedded firmware implementation on STM32 or similar microcontrollers. This role is pivotal in bringing our smart tracking and IoT devices to life.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and simulate electronic circuits for embedded systems (analog/digital, power, and RF interfaces)
• Schematic capture and PCB layout using tools like Altium Designer, KiCad, or equivalent
• Select appropriate components based on design, cost, and availability
• Work with manufacturing partners and internal teams to assemble and test prototype boards
• Validate hardware functionality with lab equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers)

• Develop, maintain, and optimize embedded software in C/C++
• Build applications on RTOS (Real-Time Operating Systems) platforms such as FreeRTOS, Zephyr, or custom schedulers
• Integrate sensor, GPS, and communication modules
• Write robust, maintainable, and documented code following MISRA-C, embedded coding standards, and internal best practices
• Conduct thorough unit testing, debugging, and firmware validation

• Work closely with QA to create test procedures and participate in DFM (Design for Manufacturing) and DFT (Design for Test)
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Software, UX/UI, and Mechanical teams during development
• Create and maintain technical documentation: schematics, BOMs, firmware revision history, test plans

• 1+ years experience in embedded systems design and development
• Strong proficiency in C and C++
• Hands-on experience with STM32 or other ARM Cortex-M microcontrollers
• Experience with RTOS-based development
• Familiarity with circuit simulation, soldering, and debugging hardware
