The main responsibility of this role is to promote and sell new Scania vehicles and services within a designated region (KZN). Job Responsibilities
  • To effectively market & sell (new) Scania trucks in a professional capacity by establishing new business relationships & maintaining relationships with existing clientele as well as our new truck sales team regionally to meet all targets.
  • To effectively build our brand by adhering to the company’s quality policy, protocols & systems
  • This role includes travel to Scania dealerships, existing and new customers within the allocated region (Cape Region)
  • Assisting with customer queries whilst maintaining & improving customer satisfaction
  • Cold calling / hunting for potential new clients
  • Reporting activities & leads daily, completing weekly sales reports & forecasting
  • Respond to enquiries and follow up
  • Be a team player and assist the team
  • Attend meetings as and when required
  • Qualifying customers & leads, go getter with a good understanding of customer needs, and able to build good rapport with customers.
  • Attending to phone calls, messages, emails punctually
  • Customer meetings including introduction & familiarisation of the of the FIT tool
  • Uphold and maintain professionalism and positive representation of the Company Brand and Values.

LEADERSHIP and PLANNING
Properly plan all sales activity for allocated strategic accounts.
Provide customers with a point of contact scenario.
Apply the retail pricing framework in a sensible and profitable manner.
Ensure efficient liaison meetings take place at Dealer level.
Co-ordinate after sales activities for allocated strategic accounts.
Provide a transport consultancy service to demonstrate total operating costs.
Manage positive supplier relationships.
Contribute to sales CSM results, grow customer satisfaction and relationships.
Provide a sales engineering service to ensure correct vehicle selection.
Apply strict measures to the company's SHE policy at all times.
Ensure Best Practices are always applied. Proper housekeeping, in and around the facility.
Achieve or exceed the agreed annual targets (unit sales, market share and gross profit).
Only utilize suppliers as per agreed and approved FAW Southern Africa on after-market panel to ensure that the vehicle warranty remains intact to the customer.

KEY DRIVERS
Accurate understanding of the deal process, including:
Deal closure.
Vehicle selection and load body fitment / procurement.
Vehicle delivery and handover.
Vehicle payment and deal file closure.
Strict control over vehicle deliveries and handovers.

CUSTOMER RELATIONS
Manage and drive high levels of customer interaction, ensuring customers are kept up-to-date on the new vehicle transaction.
Follow-up with prospective customers at least once a week via telephone or email.
Visit prospective customers at least twice a month.
Contact current customers at least once a month via telephone and follow-up with a visit once a month.

CUSTOMER RETENTION and GROWTH OPPORTUNITIES
Ensure your database remains synchronized with the company database. Use only EXCEL or as guided by the company. Updates to be forwarded to the Sales Manager and Sales Administrator at least once a month.
Care for and grow your customer database by continually following-up and keeping customers informed of national and local market changes and events.

MONITORING and ADMINISTRATION
Ensure that all vehicles are invoiced timeously and support the process.
Ensure that vehicle payments debtors are kept within the terms and conditions of sale for timely submission for commission payouts.
Ensure all cash sale transactions are paid in full.
Take corrective action on out-of-line items.

CUSTOMER CARE
Ensure high levels of customer interactions.
Ensure that feedback to the customer is relevant and correct.
Continue to promote the company as a trustworthy and reliable brand.

TRANSOLVE / HTM (ELECTRONIC SELLING TOOLS)
Prepare and present each customer quotation to include a minimum of an electronic mass distribution drawing (side view).
Corporate quotations will include route simulations and any other information the customer may require for a complete understanding of the vehicle.
Contribute sensibly to the department and company in terms of unit sales and profitability per unit.

Requirements

Matric Certificate or Higher.
5 Years of NEW truck sales experience.
Sufficient Knowledge of trucks and industry.
Must have own database.
Proven record of Sales.
Knowledge of Road Traffic Act and Regulations.
HTM / Transolve Experience.
Ability to understand CPK and calculate in various applications.
Knowledge of vehicle bodies legal and client specifications.
