You will:

  • Lead the demand management agenda for the category, being the key interface between commercial (sales revenue planning) and supply (replenishment) to identify and evaluate the impact of potential availability issues/commercial changes including gap assessment and risk and opportunity discussions
  • Partner with modelling team for the generation of statistical forecasting
  • Manage, coach and develop a team
  • Review standard consumption versus forecast at the customer and total product levels, liaising with replenishment and sales revenue planning to manage potential availability issues and the impact of under consumption
  • Drive strong linkages with the commercial, customer collaboration, modelling, order fulfilment teams and supply planning including innovation and equity
  • Drive continuous capability building in the demand planning team for planning improvement

The Opportunity

Are you passionate about analyzing data, forecasting demand, and ensuring seamless supply chain coordination? We are looking for a Demand Planning and Finance Analyst to join our team in Midrand, Johannesburg. This critical role will ensure the optimal flow of materials by planning, executing, and monitoring the movement of goods from suppliers to warehouses. You’ll develop and maintain customer and sales demand forecasts for all product categories, transform these forecasts into timely purchasing strategies, and ensure inventory availability to meet market demand.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own and execute the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process to align market demands and inventory strategies
  • Forecast customer demand by analyzing historical data and collaborating with cross-functional teams
  • Translate demand forecasts into precise supply purchase orders, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery to 3PL facilities
  • Ensure minimal supply chain vulnerabilities, such as out-of-stock issues, overstocking, expiries, or disruptions
  • Optimize inventory management and lead root-cause analysis on forecast variances
  • Build and maintain relationships with global suppliers while addressing anomalies in purchase orders or shipments
  • Monitor and report forecast accuracy, inventory levels, and purchase order progress
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to advance demand planning, fulfillment processes, and supply chain best practices
