Our client, a leading Telecommunication company, is currently looking for a Sales Manager (Data Centre) based in Fourways.

The Sales Manager will be responsible for achieving the Open Access Data Centre sales target by generating new sales and growing the Company's market share within the Outsourcers and Aggregators market segments. The primary objective is to build and establish strong and lasting relationships at all levels and expand the reference into new markets to generate incremental revenue. The Sales Manager is expected to uncover and close opportunities in the region.

Duties & Responsibilities
  1. The Sales Manager – South Africa will develop long-term relationships with the Clients interpreting their needs and requirements.
  2. Provide both pre-sales and post-sales support to the Clients for good customer management and retention.
  3. Achieve set revenue targets and market growth within designated market of South Africa.
  4. Support marketing activities by attending trade shows, conferences, and other marketing events.
  5. Provide training and product support for the technical teams.
Desired Experience & Qualification
  1. Minimum 5 years’ experience in B2B environment with working experience in sales, preferably in a collocation company.

In this dynamic role, you’ll lead the charge in shaping and managing our Advanced Analytics, Data Warehouse, Business Intelligence, Data Governance, and System Integration functions — all with the goal of unlocking the power of accurate, trusted data to drive smart decisions and bold strategies.

You’ll head up a talented squad of data scientists, analysts, and engineers — thinkers, builders, and problem-solvers — while collaborating closely with business leaders to craft data solutions that don’t just meet expectations but exceed them. Whether it’s influencing high-level strategy or streamlining stakeholder reporting, your work will ensure that data isn't just a byproduct — it’s a catalyst.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Data Warehousing, BI and Advance Analytics:

  • Develop a cutting-edge, world class business intelligence and analytical function to support decision making, strategy formulation and stakeholder management
  • Provide data to inform and guide businesses and act as an analytical powerhouse to be leveraged by critical internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop a group wide data strategy to determine and meet the data needs of the group.
  • Use information, business intelligence and advance analytics to advise and inform business on issues impacting strategy and operations.
  • Use data to monitor the implementation of performance management in accordance with the organizational strategy.
  • Ensure that all system decisions and changes support the defined systems architecture
  • Ensure that wherever possible, self - service reporting or pre-existing reports are utilized – thereby ensuring the number of requests for new reports or a new layout set are kept to a minimum.
  • Review and approve BRD’s and changes that impact the analytics and data platforms to ensure that the requirements are met.
  • Review and approve change requests that impact for RMA analytics and data platforms systems to ensure the correct solutions are implemented.
  • Ensure changes to data warehouse, reporting and analytical platforms only impact those platforms as anticipated and planned for.
  • Assist the business in the automation and optimization of processes and systems using automated BI reporting and predictive analytics.

  • Ensure correct record keeping for each data element policy, data source, data provenance, data element business name, and data element definition.
  • Coordinate activities with internal/external technology owners/service providers for the purposes of managing certificates, service upgrades, analysing impact and accountability for the continuous availability of required services.

Requirements:

  • Experience in the telecoms industry
  • Infrastructure as code experience. (terraform and Pulumi)
  • Experience working in a scale up/dynamic consulting environment
  • Exposure to accounting concepts
  • 5+ years’ experience in data analytics, data engineering, or related technical roles, with significant hands-on coding in Python, PySpark, Notebook and SQL. Proven experience working on data integration projects (ETL, data pipelines, APIs)
  • Proven ability to build and support data integration pipelines (ETL, dataflows, APIs) at scale
  • Proven ability to build and deploy Data pipelines to Cloud production environments using automated CI/CD pipelines
  • Strong experience with modern analytics platforms (Databricks, Delta Lake, cloud storage); experience with relational databases and data modelling is a plus. Experience in Agile/Scrum environments
  • Strong experience in working with cloud-based environment (Azure, AWS)
  • Track record of translating business logic and requirements into production-grade, testable code. Experience working with data analytics tools and platforms (e.g., Power BI, SuperSet, Tableau, Looker, Grafana)
  • Solid grasp of data quality, data validation, and monitoring concepts
  • Strong communication skills—able to present technical logic and results to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Experience in Agile/Scrum environments and working collaboratively with both business and engineering teams

About You

Requirements:

  • Strong analytical abilities, problem-solving skills, and experience in translating business problems into data-driven solutions, including handling large datasets, data validation, and statistical analysis
  • Understanding of big data analysis and programming tools such as Apache Spark, Hadoop, AI
  • An understanding of regulatory frameworks and risk management, including governance requirements
  • An understanding of the financial services industry
  • Proficiency in SQL
  • Stakeholder management
  • Bachelor’s degree grade 60% or above in any discipline
  • Eligibility to work in South Africa
  • English level B2 or higher
