Your day at NTT DATA

The Associate DevOps Engineer is an entry-level subject matter expert, responsible for consulting with internal clients about less complex software technology environments.

Working under general supervision, this role supports translating business requirements into technology solutions and develops algorithms and code for software solutions. This role focuses on supporting and enhancing our Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response (SOAR) platform, Swimlane.

The primary objective of the Associate DevOps Engineer is to design, test, implement, and maintain software code that enables computer systems to perform specific tasks and helps determine how technology can meet client needs. Key responsibilities include:

  1. Collaborating with Platform Specialists to understand detailed business and user requirements.
  2. Assisting in preparing technical requirement documents, including systems and flowcharts.
  3. Supporting the analysis of business requirements to ensure solutions meet those needs.
  4. Contributing to the creation of detailed system design documents.
  5. Helping compile technical specifications for developers or IT Programmers.
  6. Documenting development procedures, process, and security measures during the development phase.
  7. Examining program errors and recommending corrections or escalating issues.
  8. Assisting with installation and deployment of applications, playbooks, and integrations.
  9. Supporting the implementation of solutions into production environments.
  10. Maintaining and supporting code sets and implementations in accordance with SLAs.
  11. Creating and distributing task descriptions for operation and maintenance.
  12. Performing other related tasks as required.

Qualifications and Skills Needed:

  • Basic knowledge of multi-technology application design practices.
  • Developing ability to view application environments holistically, including hardware, applications, and databases.
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to work with abstract concepts.
  • Basic understanding of development and platform engineering.

  • Scripting and programming language certifications (e.g., Bash, Python) preferred.

Experience Required:

  • Entry-level experience in software development and support.
  • Experience deploying solutions in outsourced or similar IT environments.
  • Experience working across multiple teams and geographies.
  • Programming/development experience with Agile methodologies, proficiency in Python, and familiarity with REST APIs.
  • Exposure to SOAR platforms like Palo Alto XSOAR or Swimlane.

+ Supports the transformation of the detailed requirements into a complete, detailed systems design document that focuses on how to deliver the required functionality.
+ Supports the compilation of detailed technical specifications based on their designs for developers or IT Programmers to implement.
+ Helps ensure that throughout the development phase, the process, playbooks, and integration information is documented including the development procedures for application use and security.
+ Supports with examining any program errors in logic and data and makes the necessary recommendations to correct the program as required and/or escalate the problem accordingly.
+ Works with the required teams to assist with the installation and deployment of the application, SOAR playbooks and integrations.
+ Assists with implementation preparation and implementation of the solution into a production environment.
+ Supports all the code sets and implementations that have been implemented in production in accordance with defined Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for the business.
+ Supports with writing and distributing the task descriptions in a production environment to operate and maintain the solution that has been designed and implemented.
+ Performs with any other related task as required.
