We are seeking an Associate Civil Engineer to join our multidisciplinary Land Infrastructure division.

The role is built for someone with:

1. A solid background in the public and private sector, specialising in land infrastructure from township to site-specific scale.
2. Sound knowledge in the use of a variety of civil engineering analysis software. Advanced computer skills with working knowledge of CAD Software.
3. A general understanding of BIM processes (working knowledge will be advantageous).
4. Knowledge and experience of relevant engineering codes, standards, and practices.
5. Strong work-winning, client-facing capability and experience.
6. Excellent organisational skills (ability to plan and implement) and time management skills.
7. Excellent communication skills (proven ability to interact well with personnel at all organisational levels).

1. Assist in preparing and coordinating tenders/bids and contribute to winning work initiatives.
2. Ensure timely delivery of projects that are within scope and budget.
3. Establish a clear understanding of project goals and stakeholder expectations, specifically managing client expectations and ensuring that delivery meets expectations.
4. Lead and coordinate small and medium projects, including managing delivery teams, reporting on budgets and schedules, and maintaining team morale.
5. Produce other key deliverables on projects, such as technical reports, specifications, and bills of quantities.
6. Act as a senior project-level point of contact for clients.
7. Resolve project-level issues independently.
8. Motivate the project team toward the determined objectives by generating enthusiasm for the project and maintaining a continued personal interest in achieving the set targets.
9. Be a team player who is willing to collaborate across multiple disciplines and international geographies.
10. Confident, well-spoken, self-starter, disciplined, detail and deadline/delivery orientated.

1. BSc/BEng. Degree (Civil Engineering).
2. Professional Engineer registered with ECSA with 5-10 years’ experience (5 years post-registration).
3. Minimum of 8 years’ experience as a design specialist in land infrastructure, specific to municipal and site-specific services.
4. Design and project-leading experience.
5. Must be CAD proficient.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Deploy and manage Cisco ACI fabrics, including APIC, leaf, and spine configurations
• Design and implement policies, EPGs, bridge domains, and contracts
• Troubleshoot network issues across L2/L3 and VXLAN overlays
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support application-centric deployments
• Maintain documentation and contribute to automation efforts using Python, Ansible, or similar tools
• Stay current with ACI best practices and evolving technologies

• 3–5 years of hands-on networking experience
• Solid understanding of Cisco ACI architecture and components
• Strong grasp of VLANs, VRFs, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), and VXLAN
• Familiarity with virtualization platforms (VMware, OpenStack) and cloud integrations is a plus
• Experience with network automation and scripting is highly desirable

• Review client requirements and collaborate with other IT engineers to define the optimal networking and firewalling solutions in accordance with organisational policies.
• Design and implement new network solutions and/or improve the efficiency of current networks.
• Configure firewalls for usage, manage their day-to-day operations and perform regular maintenance through upgrades and patches to ensure optimal performance, maximise network efficiency and security.
• Configure, manage and maintain secure intra- and inter-organisational communication channels, such as VPNs and IPSec tunnels.
• Perform quarterly firewall health checks removing unnecessary rules, interfaces, etc. and optimising rules where possible.
• Assist with the installation, configuration and support of network equipment across the LAN, WLAN, WAN and SD-WAN, both wired and wireless.
