'Stents' and 'Guidewires' are amongst the key products that you will be selling, and your understanding and previous sales track record will be key in landing this role.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:- ENSURE MARKET & PRODUCT KNOWLEDGE:
- Ensure up-to-date knowledge of the market drivers, the competition, market positioning, evolutions within the field, etc.
- Ensure a complete understanding and consideration of customer requirements.
- Meet with marketing to implement the defined appropriate product and technical support.
- ACHIEVEMENT SALES & PROFIT TARGETS:
- Manage all sales activities for his/her product group / territory.
- Set together with the Sales Manager, the targets and price levels and follow up the results.
- Assist the Sales Manager in analysing all problems related to his/her product group / territory, propose and plan corrective actions in order to reach the objectives and targets.
- Assist to obtain the gross profit of the business and the sales development for a product group / territory.
- Market mapping: examine the market conditions and identify trends in order to facilitate the strategy build by the product manager and sales manager.
- IMPLEMENT MARKETING & SALES STRATEGY:
- Implement defined strategies and develop tactics in order to improve the sales and profitability of his/her product group / territory together with sales management.
- Assist to search for new sales methods and possibilities.
- Assists in establishing the adequate sales channels and improve the quality of a product group.
- Manage the Key Opinion Leaders portfolio by proactively building and maintaining excellent relations.
- Maintain excellent relations with external official parties, authorities, and organisations.
- MANAGE CONGRESSES:
- Be present at local conferences, congresses, trade shows to represent the company towards the target market.
- TRAIN INTERNAL & EXTERNAL CUSTOMERS:
- Give and set-up training programmes for external and internal customers (search for the needs of a technical training) in collaboration with the Product Manager.
- QA/RA PROCEDURES:
- Complaint handling.
- GENERAL:
- Complete a monthly detailed report to ensure a smooth communication and information stream.
- Act as representative of the company towards many third parties.
- Assume all other responsibilities and authorities this function may require regarding new opportunities.
Skills & Experience:
- Master or Bachelor's degree.
- Min 3-5 years of relevant working experience in a similar function.
- Practical knowledge of Sales techniques.
- Preferably having a network of Vascular Surgeons and Interventional Radiologists / Interventional Cardiologists / Cardiovascular products (depending on the relevant BU).
- Acquaintance and knowledge of the local market is a considerable asset.
- Be a flexible team player, able to work independently, prioritize own work, and maintain confidentiality of information.
- Have a positive attitude and be pro-active, with excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, and be able to work under pressure and within short time constraints. Show drive and determination for all tasks.

The Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) in partnership with Durban University of Technology (DUT) is embarking on an initiative to build a new generation of academics. Phase 8 of the Staffing South Africa's Universities Framework (SSAUF) is called the New Generation of Academics Programme and is aimed at attracting people with relevant qualifications and experience to pursue a Doctoral qualification while they are developing as proficient academics at the University. Successful candidates will engage in comprehensive support programmes that include a salary, mentorship, equipment, cost of tuition fees, etc.
Minimum Requirements
Only South Africans who are 40 years or younger from the designated and underrepresented groups will be considered. The University is looking for aspirant academics in the following academic disciplines:
- A Master’s degree in Physiology, Public Health or equivalent, with an average of 70% or above in the Master’s degree
- Good organisational and administrative skills.
- Experience in E-learning.
- Proficiency in research, writing and communications skills.
- A motivated self-starter, responsible and accountable individual and a team player.
- Computer literacy in MS Word, Excel, Power-point, internet and email use.
- Competent preparation and delivery of learning material related to Physiology, Epidemiology and Public Health
- Supervision of students at post-graduate level.
- Undertake assessment and administration duties related to teaching and learning and research.

In accepting an NGAP appointment, the incumbent will have to:
- I. Commit to full participation i n the 6-year New Generation of Academics Programme (nGAP)
- Commit to registering for Doctoral studies (as applicable) within 3 months of taking up the nGAP appoi Please note that nGAP appointees who already hold a doctorate will be required to undertake a higher teaching/research load.
- Commit to work closely with the supervisor and mentor assigned to him/her and to adhere to the study plan and milestones developed with the supervisor and
- Commit to participate in the SSAU F Development Programme, which will involve participation in at least one short course/module per year focused on research or teaching
- Agree that s/he cannot accept any other funding from state sources that duplicates the purpose for which funding has already been allocated through the
- Agree that s/he cannot accept any other funding for projects that conflict with obligations that arise from participating in the
- Agree to inform the University and the Department of Higher Education and Training of any other funding that s/he have been offered before accepting such
- Agree that should s/he leave the nGAP position before successfully completing the 6-year programme, s/he will be obliged to reimburse the nGAP fund by repaying the University the following costs incurred up to the point of
- Registration and tuition fees for postgraduate studies, where
- Costs associated with the assignment of a mentor to support
- Costs incurred for his/her participation in the SSAU F-Development
- Costs of infrastructure and equipment provided to support his/her work i n the
- Any conference/ international mobility costs paid by the nGAP and,
