Overview
Summary: Assists in examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician. Conducts intake on patients, records vital signs (pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, height), and completes patient health history in the electronic medical record. Demonstrates good decision making, knowledge of anatomy, and proficiency in medical terminology. Must be able to multitask. May be required to draw and collect blood samples for patients and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis. May be exposed to bodily fluids during patient care. Must be friendly, professional, and able to maintain a fast pace during clinic hours.

- Physical working conditions: May be exposed to a variety of healthcare settings, including clinical, office or maintenance environments.
This job will be authorized 80.00 hours bi-weekly.

The Medical Assistant provides appropriate care to patients within the scope of Florida Statutes Title XXXII: Regulations of Professionals and Occupations. Chapter 458.Medical Assistants assist in various aspects of medical practice until the direct supervisor and responsibility of a physician. Responsibilities may include: patient care management, administrative and clinical procedures. In all practice endeavors the medical Assistant will adhere to ethical and professional practice.
