We have a growing logistics and courier division specializing in delivering eCommerce shipments to Distribution Centers (DCs) across Johannesburg, Durban, and Cape Town. We pride ourselves on providing reliable, affordable, and specialized courier solutions to our clients. We are seeking an experienced and proactive Operations and Logistics Manager to oversee and streamline our operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Shift Details
- Supervise and manage daily logistics operations, including shipment routing, dispatching, and on-time deliveries.
- Coordinate with drivers, dispatch officers, and warehouse staff to ensure smooth workflows.
- Ensure compliance with requirements for packaging, documentation, and shipment handovers.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the division.
- Monitor and maintain vehicle and fleet schedules, ensuring regular servicing and maintenance.
- Act as the main point of contact for escalations related to delays, rejected shipments, or incidents.
- Train and evaluate team members, ensuring adherence to company standards.
- Optimize routing, minimize delays, and enhance operational efficiency using technology tools.
- Maintain performance metrics and report on KPIs.
Minimum Requirements:
Education: Matric certificate required; a diploma/degree in logistics, operations management, or a related field is an advantage.
Experience: At least 2 years of experience in logistics, courier operations, or supply chain management.
Skills:
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
Proficiency in logistics software and tools (Track-POD, Google Sheets, etc.).
Knowledge of Takealot's DC procedures is a strong advantage.
Other:
Valid driver's license, with PDP.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Responsible for the day-to-day supervision over profiling and log in, sample receipt, sorting, logging, labeling, tracking, storage of samples and related queries/enquiries.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
- Execute job review when samples are received, to ensure instructions are clear and understood before work is profiled in SLIMS
- Responsible for sample routing, formulating changes.
- Responsible for achieving a high degree of project execution and client satisfaction
- Responsible to coordinate and motivate a team towards a common goal
- Responsible for maintaining and applying the disciplinary code of the company
- Responsible for building a motivated team, focused on client service, quality and satisfaction
- Data entry of results into SLIMS where necessary
- Responsibility to log received samples into the SLIMS using work orders from the client.
- Responsibility to print sample labels.
- Responsibilities to ensure samples are sorted correctly before labeling and boxing the samples.
- Responsibility to follow all quality directives of this Department.
