About the role:

As a Compliance Officer, you'll ensure key regulatory frameworks (FAIS, FICA, and more) are implemented, maintained, and monitored across the business. You'll manage compliance projects end-to-end and advise on risk while keeping stakeholders and the regulator aligned through clear reporting and expert guidance

• Maintain and implement the Compliance Risk Management and Monitoring Plan
• Compile compliance reports for internal teams, clients, and regulators
• Interpret and apply new legislation across the business
• Review marketing materials per Board Notice 92 standards
• Manage FAIS compliance processes and key individual/rep registers
• Support and advise on TCF (Treating Customers Fairly) outcomes

• BCom Law or LLB qualification (essential)
• RE 1 certification
• FSCA-registered CAT 1 Compliance Officer (CAT 2 preferred)
• 3-4 years' experience in financial services compliance
• Solid understanding of FAIS, FICA, and related legislation
• Own vehicle and valid driver's license, must be willing to travel across the country (fully compensated)

SUMMARY :

POSITION INFO :

Compliance Officer position available in Johannesburg.

Key Responsibilities :

• Regulatory Monitoring : Continuously monitor and interpret current and evolving insurance regulations, statutory requirements, and industry standards at the local, national, and international levels.
• Policy Development and Implementation : Develop, update, and implement company compliance policies, ensuring they reflect changes in legislation and regulatory expectations.
• Training and Education : Design and deliver compliance training programs to educate employees on regulatory requirements, company policies, reporting obligations, and ethical considerations.
• Risk Assessment : Conduct regular risk assessments and compliance audits to identify potential areas of vulnerability, recommend corrective actions, and ensure timely remediation of identified issues.
• Reporting : Prepare and submit comprehensive compliance reports to senior management and regulatory authorities, highlighting key findings, risks, and mitigation strategies.

• Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in regulatory compliance or legal roles within the insurance industry (required)

Qualifications and Experience :

Position: Tax Compliance Officer

Office location: Johannesburg (Bedfordview)

Job Description:

1. Preparation and compilation of SARS Tax Clearance documents
2. Assistance with verifying Tax Compliance of clients
3. Relationship management with external Tax Practitioner on SARS Tax Clearance submissions
4. Working within a tax and exchange control team to efficiently deal directly with client queries
5. Keeping the system (CRM) up to date with client progress and approvals
6. Relationship management with affiliates
7. Preparation and compilation of Emigration documents
8. Liaising with the various teams at our banking partners to ensure SARS TCC's and emigration processes are in place for clients to trade

Education, experience and skills:

1. A Bachelor's Degree (at minimum)
2. Work experience of at least 1 year within Fiduciary Services / banking / Exchange Control department
3. Extremely comfortable with being client facing
4. Proficiency in Word, Excel, e-filing and Salesforce (advantageous)
5. General office administration
6. FAIS RE5 (within the first 3 months, if not already obtained)
7. SAIT registration

Remuneration: Salary package offers a basic salary and will join the company incentive structure. The package includes a standard Medical Aid contribution and Death and Disability covered by the company.
