Our client is looking for a Group Leader - Civil Engineer for their team in Secunda, Mpumalanga.

The Civil Engineering Group Leader will be responsible for establishing, building, and growing a civil engineering team that will perform civil engineering design to support the projects performed by the company. The team will also perform quality assurance on civil engineering designs performed by external companies and provide procurement and construction support during project execution. The work procedures for the group will be developed in accordance with ISO 9000 and in line with the culture and procedures already developed for the existing disciplines. The responsibility also includes the development of business from clients where our client has engaged previously as well as potential new clients. The business unit is seen as a stand-alone profit center with full accountability for the success and growth of civil engineering across all branches.

The group leader will be responsible for quantifying the requirements and establishing term contracts with key clients. The group leader will oversee the productivity of the group in terms of finances, contract management, technical integrity, schedule, and customer service. The Group Leader will lead by example and ensure his contribution to the group is not only a financial asset but also carries the respect of his members. He will handle each situation in a calm and collected way without prejudice. The position is office-based in Secunda.

Requirements:

• Minimum of B Eng/BSc Eng degree in Civil Engineering with a minimum of eight years’ relevant experience.
• Registration with ECSA as Professional Engineer (in good standing).
• Experience in detail engineering on multidisciplinary EPC/EPCM projects.
• Experience in detail design and engineering of civil structures and foundations in the petrochemical industry and alike, with hands-on experience or proper exposure to the manufacturing of own designs. Candidates should demonstrate their abilities by means of examples.
• Self-driven with the ability to share by means of examples.
• Strong leadership and organizational skills, able to manage the financial wellbeing and morale of the business unit, attend to isolated matters pertaining to individuals, whether work-related or personal, manage tools and resources, and optimize the value added to the business.
• Good interpersonal relations with the ability to market our services.
• An affinity for sharing knowledge and the development of young employees.
• Dynamic in following economic and business trends.
• Organized and self-disciplined.
• Valid driver’s license with own transport.

We are seeking a proactive and technically skilled Field Support Engineer to provide on-site and remote support for our clients. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of hardware, software, and network systems.

You will play a key role in ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction by delivering timely and effective technical support in the field.

 

What you’ll do:

• Call Updating - To ensure that all calls are updated daily with meaningful comments and that correct call update templates are used and completed fully on all calls.
• Asset input - To ensure that all assets are correctly entered into the system.
• User Satisfaction - To ensure that the user is satisfied with the service provision
• Meet SLA Requirements - To repair identified problems to meet average contractual SLA requirements.
• All calls which can be resolved remotely is redirected back to the remote support team.
• Productive Call Rate - To ensure that the agreed upon number of calls are resolved per day.
• Productive Time - Maintain productivity of >75%
• Instruments - To ensure that all company equipment are kept in good condition at all times (Desktop PC, Tablet/Charger/Cover).
• Closure Codes - To ensure that correct closure codes are used.
• Work Flows - Adherence to Call Management System/any assisted tool used workflows.
• Call Ageing - Ensure that no calls have aged past the agreed upon number of days and those which have, are escalated to ensure closure. All calls to be regularly updated correctly with relevant details.
• Problem-Solving - To listen and probe user problems, to accurately interpret cause and to resolve problem by following correct technical routines.
• Repeat Calls - To limit the number of recurring calls.
• HR Policies and Procedures - To ensure that all HR Policies and Procedures as well as BU Specific procedures are adhered to, e.g. house rules, timekeeping, housekeeping and dress code, etc.
• Faulty Hardware - To ensure that all faulty parts are replaced and that parts removed are returned to stores.
• Dockets/Job Cards - To ensure that all dockets/job cards are updated correctly with relevant details, within deadline provided.
• Documentation - To ensure that all forms required for processing are submitted on time - Expense claims/Leave/Standby/all other documentation. All travel claim information to correspond with calls assigned to individual in Call Management System.
• Training - To ensure that training is completed during required deadlines.
• Knowledge Sharing - FSE to ensure that he/ she has access and familiarizes themselves to all online knowledge documentation and ways of work.

Your expertise:

• 1 Year practical in-service delivery; desk top support.
• Experience in mobile device support.
• Experience in Network Support.

No less than 8 years' experience as a Piping Designer 

4 years' + as a Pr.Eng / Pr.Tech
