IntroductionAre you an experienced Production Engineering Technician looking for a new challenge? Join our dynamic team and play a key role in delivering top-tier production engineering services to meet our customer's needs and ensure the efficient and productive manufacture of our products.
Key Responsibilities- Analyze customer requirements and determine the most suitable processes and methods.
- Investigate and propose solutions, prepare detailed CAPEX, and coordinate the purchase of equipment.
- Conduct Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) on new and existing processes.
- Establish and document improved methods, processes, and control plans to enhance productivity.
- Manage engineering projects, providing solutions to any technical challenges.
- Oversee the acquisition, commissioning, and performance of tooling, plant, and equipment.
- Implement new product designs, materials, and quality/productivity improvement programs.
- Participate in training initiatives and maintain compliance with company policies and safety standards.
- Tertiary qualification in Engineering.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Mechanical Design and Project Management.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Academic Leadership & Campus Support
- Assist with reviewing academic results of all students within the School on campus and implement an appropriate teaching and learning strategy for "At risk" students and "At risk" modules.
- Academic counselling and support to students within the School.
- Support the development of new programmes for accreditation.
- Support development of academic material and assessments on programmes within the School by acting as developer, module leader, moderator or head of programme for the Central Academic Team (CAT).
- Provide support to the campus marketing team with specialised knowledge of the programmes with the School.
- Assist with plagiarism offences and disciplinary procedures.
- Involvement in, and management of, academic support and administrative duties during the campus registration period.
- Assist with the student tracking process.
- Conduct Student consultations.
- Be an active members and/or Chairperson/s of Engineering Committees.
- Assisting the School with Teaching & Learning initiatives.
- Assist on accreditation visits, such as ECSA, CHE and BAC.
Industry, Professional Management & Building Partnerships
- Develop and maintain relationships with professional industry to support placement of students, bursaries and sponsorships and access to professional expertise.
- Facilitation of and involvement in professional and scholarly activities e.g. Conference Papers and Higher Degree Studies.
- Organise campus events for the School to promote professional industry relationships.
- Actively engage with the ECSA and relevant professional bodies, such as SAICE, SAIEE and SAIMechE.
- Lecture on engineering-related programmes (must lecture on an IIE qualification) across various modes of delivery where relevant.
- Marking of assessments and feedback to students in subjects lectured. May be required to internally moderate assessments scripts that fall within their subject fields, where necessary across IIE sites of delivery.
- Supervision on Capstone Design and Research Modules.
Student Development & Campus Support
- Assisting with academic development and support for a specific programme and its students.
- Tracking student success and implementing support interventions where required.
- Assist in lecturer development and support processes and procedures. This may include conducting peer reviews, facilitating workshops and one-on-one consultations.
- Assisting in the coordination of the engineering learning centre (ELC) (teaching assistants/ tutors).
- Assist in the coordination of the engineering society focusing on student industry engagement.
Research & Scholarship
- The incumbent is required to promote a culture of scholarship within their practice, discipline and campus/team and is also required to contribute towards IIE MSA achieving its annual research output targets.
- Professional/advanced communication skills
- Organisational and planning skills
- Tolerance for operating in a pressurised environment and industry
- Ability to analyse and interpret data
- Attention to detail and focus on quality
- Advanced teaching and learning expertise evidenced by a Teaching Portfolio
- Minimum of a BEng and a Master of Engineering (NQF Level 9) in Civil Engineering.
- Registration as a Professional Engineer would be highly advantageous.
- Other qualifications besides the above will not be accepted.
Minimum Work Experience Requirements:
- At least 2 years of experience in Teaching and Learning (preferably in a tertiary education environment).
- Demonstrated experience in curriculum design and development.
- A record of research and publication in scholarly journals and/or conference proceedings.
- Must have an understanding of the regulatory framework and its impact on higher education and private colleges.

In addition to domestic (South African) students, IIE MSA is home to a diverse of cultures of students from 50 African countries.
The IIE MSA Campushas a vacancy for a Part-time Engineering Lecturer in the following fields:
- Economic Decision Making for Sustainability: This module will provide students with a solid foundation in Economics to make managerial decisions.
- Embedded Systems: The purpose of this module is to provide students with the knowledge of the tools used in developing an embedded system in relation to different system platforms in order to develop embedded systems.

- Society and Practice 2B: The purpose of this module is to enhance the students' understanding of the legal aspects of engineering practice by reviewing codes of conduct and professional responsibility according to regulations. Competencies Required:
The primary purpose of this position is the development and delivery of effective teaching on qualifications and all associated academic activities such as student engagement and support that will promote student success and learning. This includes responsibility for modules from conceptualisation through to assessment and responsibility for an integrated, effective curriculum within qualifications. Participation in scholarship such as research is also required. Minimum Qualification Requirements:
- Minimum a BEng/BIng/BSc (Eng) and a Master’s degree in the relevant discipline. Professional registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) would be highly advantageous.
Minimum Work Experience Requirements:
- Ideally minimum of 2 years in teaching and experience gained from similar higher education role at a recognised tertiary institution or;
- Alternatively a minimum of 5 years in related industry experience.
