• Analyze customer requirements and determine the most suitable processes and methods.
• Investigate and propose solutions, prepare detailed CAPEX, and coordinate the purchase of equipment.
• Conduct Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) on new and existing processes.
• Establish and document improved methods, processes, and control plans to enhance productivity.
• Manage engineering projects, providing solutions to any technical challenges.
• Oversee the acquisition, commissioning, and performance of tooling, plant, and equipment.
• Implement new product designs, materials, and quality/productivity improvement programs.
• Participate in training initiatives and maintain compliance with company policies and safety standards.

• Tertiary qualification in Engineering.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Mechanical Design and Project Management.

To develop and maintain complete data architecture across several application platforms, provide capability across application platforms. To design, build, operationalise, secure and monitor data pipelines and data stores to applicable architecture, solution designs, standards, policies and governance requirements thus making data accessible for the evaluation and optimisation for downstream use case consumption. To execute data engineering duties according to standards, frameworks, and roadmaps.

Experience Required

1. Software Engineering
   5-7 years: Experience in building databases, warehouses, reporting and data integration solutions. Experience building and optimising big data data-pipelines, architectures and data sets. Experience in creating and integrating APIs. Experience performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement.
2. 8-10 years: Deep understanding of data pipelining and performance optimisation, data principles, how data fits in an organisation, including customers, products and transactional information. Knowledge of integration patterns, styles, protocols and systems theory.
3. 8-10 years: Experience in database programming languages including SQL, PL/SQL, SPARK and or appropriate data tooling. Experience with data pipeline and workflow management tools.

This classification involves conducting engineering construction inspections related to paving, drainage, water, sanitary sewer, and other civil engineering projects for the City. An employee in this position reviews construction documents, evaluates materials lists, meets with contractors, developers, and government agencies; inspects various sites, roadways, and utility improvements; and ensures compliance with City standards and applicable regulations. The role also includes responding to inquiries, investigating complaints, and updating related records.

Examples of Duties

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

1. Participates in preconstruction meetings with contractors, engineers, and developers.
2. Reviews materials lists and shop drawings for compliance with approved plans.
3. Inspects construction in the public right-of-way and private development sites, including curbing, paving, and sidewalks.
4. Inspects grading and paving for compliance with permits and approved plans.
5. Checks sub-base, sub-grade, rock base, and surface conditions.
6. Confers with builders to ensure standards are followed.
7. Prepares written reports on project progress.
8. Inspects utility installations to ensure compliance with permits and standards.
9. Inspects drainage work for subdivisions on private and public roads.
10. Inspects sidewalks, driveways, parking areas, and ADA compliance.
11. Reviews complaints and requests, investigates issues, and reports findings.
12. Acts as construction inspector for parks projects and liaises with subcontractors.
13. Enters inspection data into the City’s computer system.
14. Reviews as-built drawings and construction costs against field data.
15. Provides excellent customer service with professionalism and respect.
16. Performs related duties as required.
