DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Develop a cutting-edge, world class business intelligence and analytical function to support decision making, strategy formulation and stakeholder management
- Provide data to inform and guide businesses and act as an analytical powerhouse to be leveraged by critical internal and external stakeholders.
- Develop a group wide data strategy to determine and meet the data needs of the group.
- Use information, business intelligence and advance analytics to advise and inform business on issues impacting strategy and operations.
- Use data to monitor the implementation of performance management in accordance with the organizational strategy.
- Ensure that all system decisions and changes support the defined systems architecture
- Ensure that wherever possible, self - service reporting or pre-existing reports are utilized – thereby ensuring the number of requests for new reports or a new layout set are kept to a minimum.
- Review and approve BRD’s and changes that impact the analytics and data platforms to ensure that the requirements are met.
- Review and approve change requests that impact for RMA analytics and data platforms systems to ensure the correct solutions are implemented.
- Ensure changes to data warehouse, reporting and analytical platforms only impact those platforms as anticipated and planned for.
- Assist the business in the automation and optimization of processes and systems using automated BI reporting and predictive analytics.

The Global HSSE Reporting and Data Analytics Specialist is responsible for collecting, analysing, and reporting on health, safety, security, and environmental (HSSE) data with a specialised focus on greenhouse gas (GHG) accounting and adherence to the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) guidelines. This role ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, supports internal and external audits, and contributes to the organisation's sustainability goals. This position will also support initiatives and programs that are aligned with the Puma Energy Global HSSE Vision and Strategy.
Responsibilities- Implement strategic data analysis for the HSSE function and sustainability, focusing on collecting, analysing, and reporting health, safety, security, and environmental data with a specialised emphasis on GHG accounting and CSRD compliance.
- Generate and enhance comprehensive reports on health, safety, security, and environmental data, in line with the Global HSSE Strategy, GHG reporting standards and CSRD guidelines. Develop and maintain internal GHG Data Management Guidelines and public documentation on preparation and calculation methodologies.
- Maintain expertise in GHG accounting, global reporting standards such as CSRD, and best practices to ensure that reporting meets CSRD and GHG Reporting Standard requirements and aligns with other frameworks such as GRI, TCFD, and SASB (where applicable).
- Ensure that compliance and governance are rigorously applied across all HSSE, GHG, and sustainability data. Oversee the accurate input of environmental sustainability data for external agencies and compliance reports, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and supporting both internal and external audits.
- Serve as the system administrator for HSSE tools and systems that support data and information management. Capture all GHG inventory data in a central repository and manage the solution and evaluate and implement software and tools for data management and reporting (where required).
- Collaborate with Global HSSE, Regional Teams, digitisation teams, and other SMEs to define data strategies and develop real-time dashboards and reports. Support environmental sustainability data input for external agencies and compliance reports as requested and in collaboration with the Puma Energy ESG Team. Guide cross-functional teams to ensure consistent data collection and reporting. Provide support and training to operational and functional teams for data collection and analysis, where required.
- Support the development and implementation of Puma Energy’s HSSE and Sustainability Strategy and goals by providing insights and recommendations based on data analysis. Identify areas for improvement in sustainability and HSSE reporting processes. Implement best practices to enhance data management and reporting quality. Advise on evolving carbon accounting practices in alignment with Puma Energy’s sustainability strategies and plans.
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors to ensure data accuracy and reliability. Address audit findings and implement corrective actions as necessary.
- Participate in external forums to stay informed about industry advancements.
- 5 - 10 year’s practical experience in a HSSE systems, governance, assurance or operational role, with focus on reporting, analytics and GHG Emission data management, ideally within the Oil and Gas, Construction, Aviation and/or other high-risk industries;
- Experience in data management principles and practices, including data management technologies;
- Experience and expertise in rigorously and effectively examining large quantities of data to derive insights from. Prior experience in measuring leading and lagging indicators at the macro and micro level utilising quantitative and qualitative analysis;
- Understanding of the HSSE legislative frameworks across global jurisdictions;
- Comprehensive understanding of GHG Emissions Reporting Standards and Guidelines to clearly and concisely communicate requirements;
- Minimum qualification in Greenhouse Gas Emission Accounting (E.g. Greenhouse Gas Practitioner) preferred;
- Tertiary qualifications in health, safety and/or environment or equivalent discipline;
- Experience with international standards ISO 45001, ISO 45003, ISO 14001, ISO 9001, ISO14064 and ISO14067.
- Fluent English, strong written and verbal communication together with listening and presentation skills;
- Manage updates, critical dates, risks, and stakeholder communication effectively;

- Develop, maintain and publish reports, dashboards, scorecards, and other visual information displays through front end interfaces as well as through application and database programming
- Identify, analyse, and interpret trends or patterns
- Work closely with management to prioritise business and information needs
- Locate and define new process improvement opportunities
- Understand all the data that the business holds and create sustainable reporting solutions, ensuring the accuracy of the data
- Take responsibility for Management Information report design and production; scope and prioritize work stream
- Present statistical and Machine Learning solutions to internal stakeholders
- Carry out research on statistical and Machine Learning methods and technologies that could offer potential competitive advantages
- Conduct ad hoc deep dive analyses and present results
- Source, clean and combine data from various sources to design reports connecting the dots and provide holistic views of the business, the environment and various data points
- Create anomaly detection and alerts for key metrics
- Maintain, build and improve data consolidation and automation from various platforms to enable integrated views
- Formulate, suggest and manage data-driven projects which are geared at furthering the business' interests
- Lead the data discovery and innovation processes, identifying potential big data driven solutions and initiatives
- Clean and convert raw data into formats that can be used by other tools
- Carry out quality assurance testing to ensure the models deliver insights accurately
- Develop, test, implement and maintain solutions
- Apply best available practices for artificial intelligence and machine learning
- Relevant Degree with experience in the following fields: Data science, IT, Big-data, Analytics, or equivalent mandatory
- SAP Certification (advantageous)
- 5-8 years’ experience in a similar role, within a large corporate or consulting environment
- SQL and Power BI
