Being part of SAP's Customer Success organization, we are looking for highly motivated and customer-focused team members to strengthen the Cloud Architecture & Advisory team (CAA). The Cloud Architect acts as a primary point of contact for all technical topics from customer perspective and is working closely with all the other internal teams.
**EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS**
This is a customer facing role where you will support the sales teams during the entire cycle of a Cloud deal. Following are the key tasks that this role will perform:
+ Present in detail technical and operational aspects of the RISE with SAP Private Cloud.
+ Present the requirements and value proposition for SAP private cloud on hyperscalers like Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
+ Conduct technical assessment workshops with customers to define the future cloud architecture and plan the migration roadmap together with partners, System Integrators, and or SAP Professional Services.
+ Guide customers on non-functional capabilities such Business Continuity, Cybersecurity & Compliance, Networking, Technical Operations, and service consumption.
+ Work with other teams within the Customer success board area to generate pricing and provide ongoing deal support to sales teams.
+ Own the technical discussions with the customer and act as the orchestrator of experts to obtain expertise from the SAP delivery organization as required.
**EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES**
+ Bachelor's / Master's degree in Engineering or Computer Science, Business Administration required from an accredited university.
+ High proficiency in customer communications and presentations is required.
+ High proficiency in the SAP product portfolio, offerings, and industry solutions.
+ Good understanding of SAP solutions (releases, platform interdependencies etc.).
+ Good understanding of operational aspects (Application and Technical) of SAP solutions in a cloud environment.
+ Good understanding of capabilities of at least one Hyperscaler (AWS; MS Azure or GCP).
+ Ability and willingness to be part of a global team of Cloud Architects.
+ Willingness to undertake customer related travel on short notice.
+ Fluency in English is a MUST, other language(s) will be an asset.
**WORK EXPERIENCE**
+ 8 years of customer facing SAP Consulting experience.
+ 8 years of solution design, enterprise architecture and or SAP implementation.
+ Experience in a customer facing pre-sales role is an advantage.
+ Experience and/or certification(s) with IaaS Providers (AWS, MS Azure or GCP) and data centres is a big advantage.
+ Cybersecurity & Compliance expertise.
+ SAP Application Lifecycle Management and or SAP Operations.
+ ITSM, Service Design & Delivery.
+ SAP HANA and S/4 HANA skills would be very helpful.

+ Supports the sales teams in presenting an architecture solution to clients with a focus on cost savings or uncovering other client growth opportunities using the ability to discover and analyze the client's current architecture, platforms and operating models.
+ Shares client outcomes and market conditions with other stakeholders so that the global offering leads, and Managed Services community can evolve strategies and develop innovative solutions for the future.
+ Provides coaching and mentoring and acts as advisor and decision maker in service design situations.
+ Support the sales teams to have a commercial model discussion with the client.
+ Identifies all service costs and populating cost models accurately to ensure a full visibility of costs related to the delivery of the service over the contract term.
+ Creates and gets sign-off from relevant stakeholders on the solution design that will form part of the commercial model.
+ Responsible for vendor management depending on the service offers and ensures that the transition to service delivery teams are well coordinated to ensure a smooth transition.

+ Advanced understanding of cloud technologies, networking, security, and system administration
+ Advanced demonstratable knowledge and value of multi cloud technologies especially cloud native application workflows, understanding of architecture transformation, observability and legacy to cloud migrations.
+ Applied Azure and/or GCP and/or AWS infrastructure architect and presales skills.
+ Advanced understanding of virtualization, hybrid computing environments, storage technology and cloud native technologies.
+ Advanced knowledge of Managed Services service and delivery models, including cloud, global, and distributed delivery models.
+ Ability to work with costing models in partnership with sales and finance stakeholders.
+ Ability to communicate potential improvements and value of our solutions to all levels of stakeholders, including C-suite decision-makers.
+ Ability to facilitate workshops with clients and internal teams to discover requirements, present solutions and obtain client buy-in.

**Academic Qualifications and Certifications:**
+ Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Information technology/systems or a related field.

Cloud Infrastructure Management
Design, implement, and maintain cloud-based solutions in AWS, Azure Office 365, Google Cloud, Oracle cloud environments.
Manage cloud networking, security groups, IAM roles, and storage solutions
Optimise cloud resources for cost efficiency and performance.
Drive delivery of automation through cloud whilst managing cost efficiencies.
Server Administration & Virtualisation
Deploy, configure, and manage Windows and Linux servers in on-premise and cloud environments.
Implement and maintain virtualization technologies such as VMware, Hyper-V, or KVM.
Monitor system performance and troubleshoot server-related issues.
Manage resources and storage.
Security & Compliance
Ensure compliance with industry security standards (ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR, etc.).
Configure firewalls, VPNs, and identity management solutions.
Implement security best practices, including patch management, vulnerability assessments, and access controls.

Collaboration & Documentation
Work with DevOps, networking, and application teams to ensure seamless cloud integration.
Document system configurations, policies, and procedures.
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
5+ years of experience in system engineering, cloud services, or IT infrastructure.
Hands-on expertise in AWS, Azure, Oracle or Google Cloud (certifications preferred: AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Azure Administrator, Oracle Cloud Engineer).
Strong knowledge of Linux (RHEL, Ubuntu) and Windows Server environments.
Experience with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policies and Office 365
Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Skills:

+ Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
+ 10 years of experience with cloud native architecture in a customer-facing or support role.
+ Experience with frameworks for deep learning (e.g., PyTorch, Tensorflow, Jax, Ray, etc.), AI accelerators (e.g., TPUs, GPUs), model architectures (e.g., encoders, decoders, transformers), and using machine learning APIs.
+ Experience with Machine Learning model development and deployment.
+ Experience engaging with, and presenting to, technical stakeholders and executive leaders.
**Preferred qualifications:**
+ Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
+ Experience in building machine learning solutions and leveraging specific machine learning architectures (e.g., deep learning, LSTM, convolutional networks).

As a Customer Engineer, you will partner with technical Sales teams as a subject matter expert in Artificial Intelligence and Infrastructure Modernization to differentiate Google Cloud to our customers. You will help prospective and existing customers and partners understand the power of Google Cloud, develop creative cloud solutions and architectures to solve their business challenges, engage in proofs of concepts, and troubleshoot any technical questions and roadblocks. You will use your expertise and presentation skills to engage with customers to understand their business and technical requirements, and persuasively present practical and useful solutions on Google Cloud. You will use excellent technical, communication and organizational skills. You will partner with internal engineering stakeholders to improve products and build solutions, optimizing for results when in production and identifying innovative ways to multiply your impact and the impact of the team as a whole.

+ Work with the team to identify and qualify business opportunities, understand key customer technical objections, and develop the strategy to resolve technical blockers.
+ Share in-depth AI/ML expertise to support the technical relationship with customers, including technology advocacy, supporting bid responses, product and solution briefings, proof-of-concept work, and partnering directly with product management to prioritize solutions impacting customer adoption to Google Cloud.
+ Work directly with Google Cloud products to demonstrate and prototype integrations in customer and partner environments.
+ Recommend integration strategies, enterprise architectures, platforms, and application infrastructure required to successfully implement a complete solution on Google Cloud.
+ Travel to customer sites, conferences, and other related events as required, acting as a public advocate for Google Cloud.
