Job Purpose The CFO is responsible for overseeing the financial management, strategic planning, and reporting of SA Van Conversions. The role ensures compliance with statutory requirements, optimizes financial performance, and drives improvements in financial reporting and transparency. Additionally, the CFO plays a key role in maintaining BBBEE compliance, meeting SARS deadlines, and supporting the company's strategic goals. Key Responsibilities 1. Daily Responsibilities Financial Management: Oversee daily financial operations, including cash flow monitoring, bank reconciliations, and expense management. Approve financial transactions exceeding delegated limits. Internal Controls: Ensure adherence to internal control policies, segregation of duties, and fraud prevention measures. Review and authorize payments for creditors and payroll. Stakeholder Engagement: Provide financial insights to the CEO, Board, and executive management team. Address ad-hoc financial queries from internal and external stakeholders. 2. Monthly Responsibilities Financial Reporting: Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow). Review variance analyses, identify trends, and provide actionable recommendations. Debtors and Creditors Management: Ensure strict adherence to collection and payment timelines. Approve aged debtors and creditors reports and resolve overdue accounts. Cash Flow Management: Approve and monitor monthly cash flow forecasts. Ensure sufficient liquidity for operational requirements. Compliance and BBBEE: Monitor compliance with BBBEE scorecard requirements, ensuring alignment with RT and localization priorities. Track and report on procurement spend with local and BBBEE-accredited suppliers. Tax Compliance: Oversee VAT submissions and ensure timely payments. Ensure compliance with SARS reporting timelines and address any SARS queries or audits. 3. Annual Responsibilities Strategic Financial Planning: Lead the preparation of the annual budget, ensuring alignment with strategic goals. Oversee long-term financial planning, forecasting, and scenario analysis. Audit and Statutory Compliance: Manage annual external audits, ensuring clean audit outcomes. Prepare and submit statutory financial statements in line with IFRS and Companies Act requirements. Ensure compliance with SARS annual tax returns and associated deadlines. BBBEE Compliance: Drive initiatives to maintain BBBEE Level 2 status. Prepare and submit required documentation for BBBEE audits and assessments. Risk Management: Identify and mitigate financial risks related to operations, credit, and compliance. Ensure adequate insurance coverage and risk reserves are maintained. Reporting to Stakeholders: Present annual financial performance to the Board of Directors. Provide financial insights and reports to key stakeholders, including government bodies and OEM partners. Key Skills and Competencies Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of IFRS, tax legislation, and SARS reporting requirements. Familiarity with BBBEE scorecard requirements, RT , and local procurement regulations. Leadership: Ability to lead and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence. Strategic Thinking: Strong business acumen with the ability to align financial strategies with business objectives. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication for Board-level reporting and stakeholder engagement. Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and commitment to transparency in financial reporting. Qualifications and Experience Educational Background: Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)) or equivalent qualification is required. Postgraduate qualification in Finance or Business Administration is advantageous. Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in a senior financial management role. Experience in manufacturing, automotive, or related industries is preferred. Proven track record in improving financial systems and reporting processes. Technical Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in financial systems (ERP software) and MS Excel. Familiarity with BBBEE compliance systems and reporting tools. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Timely and accurate preparation of monthly and annual financial statements. Maintenance of BBBEE Level 2 status with compliance to localization requirements. Adherence to all SARS reporting deadlines and statutory compliance. Reduction in overdue debtors and creditors beyond 30 days. Successful completion of external audits with minimal findings. Improved transparency and quality of financial reporting to the Board. Package and Benefits Salary: Market-related, commensurate with experience.
