Position Overview
We are seeking a CPA or highly experienced Accountant with construction industry expertise to handle day-to-day accounting, financial reporting, and compliance. This is a hands-on role not just reviewing numbers, but producing them, requiring precision, organization, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, multi-state operation.
Key Responsibilities
Core Accounting & Financial Operations
- Monthly Financial Close: Deliver comprehensive P&L reports within 2 weeks of month-end.
- Bookkeeping Excellence: Maintain accurate monthly bookkeeping and execute strategic account planning.
- Payroll Management: Oversee payroll processing in Zoho Books and other payroll platforms.
- Tax Compliance: Manage sales tax obligations and coordinate year-end tax filings.
- Cash Flow Management: Provide detailed cash flow reports and forecasts to support operational decisions.
Strategic Financial Leadership
- Project Profitability: Perform project costing and profitability analyses across the portfolio.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the annual budgeting process and maintain rolling forecasts.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare comprehensive financial statements and management reports (MIS).
Compliance & Risk Management
- Multi-State Tax Compliance: Ensure sales and use tax compliance across all operating jurisdictions.
- Payroll Compliance: Maintain federal and state payroll compliance, including weekly or bi-weekly processing.
- Employee Administration: Manage financial aspects of onboarding/offboarding and W2/1099 issuance.
- State Registrations: Coordinate required state registrations and regulatory filings.
- Risk Mitigation: Develop and implement strategies to reduce financial and operational risks.
Strategic Business Support
- Profit Optimization: Identify and implement strategies to maximize profitability across all business lines.
- Supplier Relations: Provide financial oversight for procurement and supplier management.
- Logistics Support: Collaborate on logistics coordination to improve operational efficiency.
Required Qualifications
- CPA certification preferred , or equivalent demonstrated experience in senior financial roles.
- 5+ years of experience specifically in construction or contractor accounting.
- Multi-State Tax Knowledge: Proven ability to manage tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
- Payroll Platform Proficiency: Working knowledge of ADP, Paychex, Gusto, and QuickBooks payroll systems.
- Analytical Excellence: Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable business insights.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities for effective cross-functional collaboration.
- Remote Work Capability: Demonstrated success working effectively in a fully remote environment.
- Industry Understanding: Deep knowledge of the financial challenges and best practices within the construction industry.

The EMEA / UK&I Tax Accountant will be a key member of Numerator International finance team, reporting to the Numerator International EMEA / UK&I Regional Controller in the Control & Accounting function, but with key collaborators in the Tax team - particularly the Numerator International Global Tax Director.

You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with local and regional tax regulations, handling relationships with local tax advisors, and collaborating closely with external auditors and regulatory bodies.

- Experience of working with an offshore transaction processing team

Job Description
Responsibilities :
- Manage full accounting and tax function portfolio.
- Produce monthly management reports
- Full accounting function to trial balance
- Drafting of annual financial statements for companies, trusts, and sole proprietors on CaseWare
- Provide advice on all tax and accounting matters
- Must have experience on e-filing (SARS)
- Must be able to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
- Prepare and submit income tax returns for individuals and companies, VAT returns for sole proprietors, and trusts
- Prepare VAT returns for sole proprietors, companies and trusts
- Competent to attend to all SARS correspondence
- Filing of notices of objections and suspension of debt on e-filing
- Conduct themselves in a professional manner
- Must be willing to travel to clients
- Responsible for keeping up to date with Tax laws and Regulations
- Optimize tax strategies and minimize tax liabilities for clients
- Tax planning
- Compliance support
- Advisory services
- Accounting degree or Higher Diploma
- Completed articles
- Affiliations to SAIPA, ACC, CIMA
- Pastel experience and knowledge
- Fluent knowledge of CaseWare and Pastel is imperative
- 2 - 5 years' experience in an accounting environment
- Own Vehicle and Valid driver's license
Remuneration :
R30 000 - R35 000 monthly
Working hours :
Monday - Friday 08H00 - 16H30
