Job Description

Job responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • With a strong focus on month end, including standard monthly journals, general ledger reconciliations and reporting financial information to internal management and key stakeholders.
  • Preparing calculations and schedules in accounting for complex transactions such as purchase of concentrate, income tax and royalties, accounting for joint ventures.
  • Assist with preparing the consolidated financial statements of Valterra Platinum Limited and the standalone financial statements of various subsidiaries.
  • Engagement with external auditors and required internal stakeholders.
Qualifications
  • QualifiedChartered Accountant CA(SA),relevant Finance and/or Accounting qualification

Experience

  • 4 years’ relevant experience

Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
  • SAP knowledge advantageous
  • Wdesk (Workiva) knowledge advantageous

  • Prepare monthly Management Accounts and provide commentary on variances.

Duties & Responsibilities
  1. Management of the creditors, banking, funds, fixed assets, and payroll.
  2. Assist in annual budgeting and continuous budget control.
  3. Responsible for issuing accurate and timely monthly financial reports.
  4. Review monthly Management Accounts and provide variance report.
  5. Assist with the external and internal audits.
  6. Check, authorize, and release creditors payments.
  7. Oversee procurement of fixed assets as per policy.

  9. Ensure all balance sheet, Payroll, and Income Statement reconciliations are accurate and done on time.

  12. Ensure all regional income statements are accurate and distributed on time to all managers.

Desired Experience & Qualification
  1. Recognized Accounting qualification.
  2. 3-5 years working experience, with at least 2 years’ experience at a supervisory level.

  4. Experience in handling the year-end audit process.
  5. People management in all aspects.
  6. Computer literacy - Accounting package (Sage an advantage), Advanced Excel, Word, Outlook.
