WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE
Job Scope:
- Drive the value & volume led growth agenda on the respective brand by leading Innovations, managing BLG campaigns based on category growth principles
- End to End brand management role for South Africa
- Focus on incremental future growth opportunities, as well as management of existing core business
- End to end P&L responsibility, including S&OP management
- Budget (BMI) management to be vigorously controlled to ensure full delivery of projects
- Leadership of several Innovation Projects – e.g. development of new mixes / launch into new categories etc.
- Leadership / support of NRM or SC Activity Requests: e.g. introduction of new pack sizes / formats for existing mixes
- Developing & executing Inspiring brand communications in partnership with creative agencies
- Leading Integrated Brand Planning Process (annual IBP)
- Management of Brand's digital strategy and ecomm
- Key relationships:

Experiences & Qualifications
- Degree in Marketing, Business and / or Commerce
- A minimum of 2 years in Marketing, Branding and Digital Marketing experience

Job Summary :
The person will be part of an international group working on Brand Innovation & Communication strategy for Africa Eurasia Division for the Personal Care category. The role reports into the Personal Care & Home Care Marketing Director.
Job Rresponsibilities:
- Lead the Protex brand: develop the Brand Growth Plan, innovation pipeline and communication plans that will drive growth of our business for the region.
- Interact daily with the Global Marketing team, Cross functional teams and Communication agency teams to develop & strengthen our equity building plans
- Lead and coordinate innovation development with R&D, Regulatory, Legal, Supply Chain and Design / Packaging teams leveraging insights and data analytics to build fact-based recommendations
- Develop and execute our Protex innovation and activations plans in partnership with the 3 main Hubs (South Africa, East West Africa & Turkey / Cace) to facilitate best-in-class commercial execution & consistency
- Track in-market performance & financial KPIs to identify new volume / margin growth opportunities
- Minimum 6 years of progressive relevant marketing experience; specific experience on innovation would be preferable.
- Functional experience in marketing/ implementation of successful marketing plans, new products, digital campaign development
- Experience in managing relationships with senior individuals and within a demanding and fast paced environment
- Experience in managing complex projects and external suppliers

Purpose of the role:
As the Senior Brand Manager for Fabric Conditioner, you'll handle all elements of the marketing mix (7Ps). Maximizes all these areas relative to the category brand and recommends actions for improvement. You'll understand & embrace global equity and brand strategies while ensuring creative & flawless execution. You'll take full responsibility for the brand Profit and Loss statements - by controlling pricing, monitoring cost, and managing the advertising expenses. You will prepare an annual and mid-year business plan and present to local, regional and corporate management as needed. You'll manage the matrix of a complex agency system. You'll lead media planning and on-going flowchart management. You'll also monitor Research Grid for the category and Insights development and build recommendations and action plans.
Main Responsibilities

- Understand & embrace global equity and brand strategies while ensuring creative & flawless execution.
- Take full responsibility for the brand Profit and Loss statements - by controlling pricing, monitoring cost, and managing the advertising expenses.
- Prepare an annual and mid-year business plan. Present this plan to local, regional and corporate management as needed, and reviews it occasionally during the year
- Manage the matrix of a complex agency system.
- Advise global and regional teams regarding customers, competition and market
- Lead Media Planning and on-going flowchart management.
- Monitor Research Grid for the category and Insights development.
- Develops recommendations and action plans to grow profitability and improve margin based on the competition in the market.
- Make major contributions to the development, assessment and presentation of the business strategy.
- Manages cross-functional partners such as: Customer Development, Logistics, Manufacturing (where appropriate),
- Purchasing/planning (where appropriate), Brand Accounting, Insights, and Advertising Agency.
- Monitor the market as a whole: consumers, competitors, industry, trade, in order to analyze and track key trends and developments.
- Lead all reporting accountabilities.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's in Marketing, Business, or related field; Honours a preference.
- Minimum 5 years in a FMCG marketing role, preferably with Africa experience.
- Strong Strategic Marketing & Commercial capabilities, with proven track record in driving brand growth & profitability.
- Experience managing a direct report
- Budget management and Agency management experience.
