Our Advertising Services client is seeking a Performance & Reward Specialist to join their team based in Umhlanga, Durban .
Purpose of the JobThe Group Performance & Rewards Specialist will play a crucial role in driving performance in the organization and in ensuring competitive remuneration and reward.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years experience within a reward and benefits specialist function.
- Sound Retirement Funds and Medical Aid Funds experience.
- Payroll experience and knowledge desirable. Data analysis is critical to understanding adherence to policy.
- Strong project management and systems experience. Strong SOP and guideline skills.
- Advanced MS Excel and PowerPoint skills.
- Vast Job Grading and Employment Equity submission experience.
- A solid understanding of local and an awareness of global regulatory reward frameworks, legislation, and best practice standards.
- Management of performance review processes.
- Implementation and management of rewards and recognition programs.
- Experience with reporting to REMCO.
- Management of the performance review process.
- Review best practices in performance management and drive process enhancements and re-design as appropriate.
- Review remuneration proposals for job offers and internal salary reviews.
- Prepare for Quarterly Remco meetings and maintain all documentation for such meetings.
- Identify and escalate remuneration gaps.
- Participate in annual salary surveys and extract insights informing remuneration policy and practices, and compensation decisions.
- Provide input into the design of bonus schemes and other short-term incentives.
- Prepare bonus schedules aligned to performance scores and incentive scheme rules.
- Develop and update pay scales to ensure internal and external equity. Ensure increases and benefits eligibility are aligned to policy.
- Analyse Employment Equity AA2 data and participate in the relevant meetings for the overall Employment Equity submission.
- Liaise with relevant stakeholders and benefit providers.
- Keep abreast of best practices in this field and continuously review.
- Facilitate Provident Fund Committee meetings.
- Facilitate the Job Grading process and ensure alignment of remuneration and benefits to grades.
- Formulate and maintain all performance and reward policies to ensure current practice is recorded.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Maintain and grow relationships with retailers through effective communication in terms of Guild promotions and advertising.
- Open and brief Regional Guild Promotions job via the Marketing Integrater System.
- Check competitive pricing from Price Probe.
- Check national and retail pricing to ensure the accuracy of information against the Marketing Integrater System and Published Promotion Schedule.
- Liaising with Retailers for approval on Guild leaflets.
- Update pricing and forward same to Buyers.
- Open a job for each press advert according to the critical path on special promotions.
- Ensure compliance or adherence to critical path for all promotions.
- Create and capture print orders with all product variants, prices and promotional dates.
- Ensure the accuracy of product variants, price and promotional dates on guild leaflets.
- Amend/edit guild leaflets layouts as per requested changes.
- Assist with any adhoc strategic Campaigns e.g. Christmas Gift Guide, etc.
- Generate PO numbers and capture invoices accordingly on the SAP System.
- Marketing Diploma / Tertiary Degree.
- Minimum of 3 years FMCG experience.
- Computer literate in MS Office – excel, word, PowerPoint essential.
- Experience in Marketing Integrator System, and SAP will be an advantage.
- Excellent time management skills, communication skills, negotiation skills and attention to detail required.
- High level of numeracy.
- Ability to cope under pressure.

Minimum requirements for the role:
- Must have a tertiary qualification in Marketing and/or Communication
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a marketing communication position is essential
- Industry experience is preferred
- Good communication and presentation skills, specifically in English and Afrikaans, with the ability to interface with internal and external stakeholders of all levels, will be required
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Drafting an annual marketing promotion plan in conjunction with Head of Department after inputs from relevant team members in portfolio management and Regional Marketing Officers.
- Keeping a good record of the approved annual marketing expense budget and reporting status monthly to the head of department.
- Executing product and services communication (launches, campaigns, etc.).
- Planning and implementing advertising in Agricultural publications, press releases, adverts, web placements, social media channels like Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, etc.
- Responsible for conceptual design and execution of innovative display models and/or promotional items to be used for trade shows and other events.
- Providing in-house artwork (for print) and multimedia generation.
- Working closely with Designers to make marketing collateral (brochures, event invitations, multimedia, such as videos) where relevant.
- Offering support to Business, Marketing Managers, Stewardship and AFAS programmes and Agents with their promotion requirements, for example sponsorships and Farmers’ Days clothing, handouts, banners, gifts, etc.
- Managing the Southern Africa Web communication, Websites and digital platform sites for the company and its relevant affiliates.
- Identifying and discussing the relevance of all events that can serve as promotional platforms.
- Managing, organizing and attending all events including Farmers Days, annual Agents’ Conference, Expos and Trade Shows.
- Requesting quotes from suppliers, getting approval from management for procurement, receiving orders, and processing invoices and payments.
- Managing hospitality events as a customer service & promotion tool.
- Proposing and contributing to product communication plan and communication initiatives (including web communication).
- Maintaining the company's corporate image and identity in alignment with the communication department.
- Managing the Trade name database in coordination with the global legal and registration department.
- Ensuring new product names are registered as per Portfolio Manager requests.
- Maintaining the Trade name summary.
- Maintaining the alignment with AME Branding policy for all marketing as per global guidelines.
- Compiling and keeping the marketing budget up to date.
- Ordering all company business cards.
- Maintaining data libraries of all electronic collateral and content such as open designs files, stock image library and rendered files (print and multimedia).
- Ensuring all contractual obligations are met in terms of hospitality, trade show agreements and others, in line with the company’s legal requirements.
