Job Description
- To lead economic evaluation research and to lecture in the Masters in Public Health (MPH) Programme and supervise students (Masters and PhD candidates)
- Fixed Term Contract position for one year, which can be renewable depending on donor funding
- Wits School of Public Health, Parktown, Johannesburg
- Identify novel research methods and ideas
- Attract research funding by identifying and applying for research grants in line with PRICELESS research strategy
- Publish research in high-impact peer-reviewed journals, reports and present findings to stakeholders, the PRICELESS team and other groups
- Manage research projects from inception to completion
- Manage and mentor junior researchers
- PhD in Health Economics
- Must have published on Economic Evaluations in Academic journals
- 4 years working experience in health economics research environment
- Experience in conducting economic evaluations
- Experience in analytical decision modelling
- Published economic evaluation articles in peer-reviewed journals
- Strong writing and presentation skills
- Good conceptualisation skills
- Experience in teaching and student supervision
- Attention to detail
- Flexible and adaptive with a positive approach to taking on several duties
- Able to work independently and as part of a team

This position plays a vital role in team resource management, meeting/travel planning and logistics, and contract management and payment, primarily in SA. What You’ll Do- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and performance monitoring across the organisation
- Analyse variances and drive corrective actions for efficient, transparent resource
- Develop and implement strategic financial plans aligned with company broader goals
- Ensure compliance with PFMA, Treasury Regulations, IFRS & GRAP
- Oversee cost and pricing strategies to support commercial success
- Provide expert financial advice to internal stakeholders and assurance providers
- Manage financial systems, internal controls, and reporting frameworks
- Mentor and develop finance teams to meet strategic and operational objectives
- Lead special projects and drive continuous improvement in financial practices
- BCom Honours in Finance (NQF Level 8)
- Chartered (SA) or CIMA qualification (essential)
- 10+ years in management , with 3+ years at senior level
- Experience implementing costing systems (desirable)
- Deep knowledge of PFMA, Treasury regulations, IFRS & GRAP
- Strategic thinking, budgeting expertise, and strong decision-making skills
- Excellent communication, time management, and interpersonal skills
