Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Exceed customer expectations by practicing customer selling techniques.
- Ensure individual targets are met consistently.
- Ability to maximize and drive sales by identifying opportunities to increase turnover.
- Establish a professional relationship with customers and provide friendly, helpful, courteous assistance and advice to all customers.
- Report customer compliments and complaints to management.
- Transact all purchases – receive, verify and processes all payments such as cash, cards, vouchers, coupons and any other acceptable payments.
- Ensure all out going stock/ items/ scripts are scanned and paid for.
- Process all loyalty cards including those of accelerated partners.
- Adhere to stock loss controls in store.
- Attend to all customer stock queries and ensure that they dealt with and resolved.
- Maintain housekeeping
- Office Visual Merchandising communication to optimize sales.
- Implement window campaigns align with the company's brand standards and marketing objectives.
- Implement seasonal and promotional displays timeously.
- Ensure all visual merchandising elements, including window displays, in-store displays, and signage, are current, clean, and well-maintained.
- Execute Visual Merchandising instructions from the Head Office team to ensure that the brand strategy is maintained.

Minimum Requirement
Essential:
- Matric or Equivalent.
- 12 months retail experience.
Advantageous:
1-year visual merchandising in-store experience.
Microsoft Computer Proficiency.
- Knowledge of current fashion trends/outdoor lifestyle (depending on the brand applying for).
Special conditions of employment:
- Clear Credit and Criminal record.
- Willing and able to work retail hours.
- Willing and able to assist with new store openings in the area.

Job Description
Cape Union Mart Poetry Department is in search of an experienced Field Visual Merchandiser Lead. The successful candidate will need to be knowledgeable of in-store visual merchandising and how to utilize the retail space effectively to enhance the aesthetic appeal of displays and walkways which will enhance the Customer Journey.
The incumbent will need to have the ability to align with the company vision, be self-motivated and actively involved in overseeing the end-to-end process in the applicable area of responsibility. The successful candidate will have to have the high energy levels to keep up with the fast-paced, exciting, and dynamic retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute visual merchandising plans and strategies to showcase products effectively and drive sales.
- Create eye-catching displays that reflect current trends, seasonal themes, and promotional campaigns.
- Ensure all displays are organized, well-maintained, and comply with company standards and guidelines.
- Collaborate with store management to understand product assortment, sales goals, and customer demographics.
- Utilize space efficiently to maximize product visibility and accessibility.
- Regularly refresh displays and signage to keep the store environment dynamic and engaging.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with inventory management to ensure adequate stock is available for display.
- Train and coach store staff on visual merchandising techniques and best practices.
- Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences to inform merchandising decisions.
Requirements:
- 3+ years management or leadership experience.
- 5+ years proven experience with visual merchandising and display in a Corporate Retail environment.
- 3+ years of experience managing Visual Merchandising for at least 20 Stores.
- Experience working in a Retail Store environment highly preferred.
- Strong computer skills: Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Proven ability to balance creative merchandising with business
- Have a valid RSA driver's license, a fully functional motor vehicle and an up-to-date passport.
- Ability to travel Nationally

- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in visual merchandising or a related field is a plus.
