Reporting into the Supply Chain Manager as part of the Supply Chain team,

RCL FOODS is searching for a Supply Planner to join the Groceries Division . The role will be based in Randfontein , Gauteng and will report into the Supply Chain Manager .

The Supply Planner will be responsible to develop and prepare both the short and longer term supply planning for finished goods, as well as packaging and ingredients, using the forward forecast and balancing it against supply constraints to optimize customer service at minimal cost. All this needs to be done considering product mix to maximize profit when making supply choices.

The role will require working closely with other supply planners, production, material requirements planner, demand planners and the distribution team, call center to proactively ensure that there are no interruptions in supply.

Minimum Requirements
  • Relevent degree in Supply Chain, Logistics or Industrial Engineering.
  • 3 - 5 years operational experience, preferably within the production planning environment.
  • Strong operations processing experience within a supply planning role is advantageous.
  • SAPICS or APICS are also preferred.
  • Computer literacy (SAP, Syspro, Barnton and MS Office skills prerequisite).
Knowledge
  • Production planning skills with strong knowledge of supply chain.

  • Calculate the stock targets by SKU by using the relevant information to input in the inventory optimization model.
  • Develop the overall supply plan that will be used as input into the company wide S&OP process.
  • Drive the coordination for delivery of innovation into the supply chain including attending the innovation meetings and representing the Supply Chain in these forums.
  • Supply Chain reporting.
  • Be involved in projects that drive cost savings or system improvements (e.g. system tools).
  • Ensure team members accurately and regularly capture data into SAP, Syspro and Barnton and any shared spreadsheets to enable access to reliable data and reporting for trend analysis and decision making.

The successful candidate will report to the Planning Manager and will be based in Bryanston .

Duties & Responsibilities

Key Performance Areas:

  • Manage service levels - Targets set by the business.

  • Hold weekly feedback sessions to highlight service level, production, stock, or sales issues with key stakeholders in the various business units.
  • Take part in monthly New Product Development meetings to discuss new products and available capacity etc.
  • Do weekly/monthly reporting as required.
  • Be able to do scenario planning and give feedback to the business units on capacity constraints and the view going forward.
  • Collaboration with the Customer DC Planners and/or Deployment Planners.
Desired Experience & Qualification

Experience:

  • At least 8 years’ experience gained in an FMCG environment of which a minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Planner in FMCG.

Qualifications:

  • A completed degree or equivalent qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Procurement or similar.
  • CPIM will be advantageous.
