Responsibilities
- Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes and security configurations.
- Configure and install various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls)
- Monitor performance and ensure system availability and reliability.
- Ensure effective inventory controls are kept of networking equipment
- Procuring network equipment and managing subcontractors involved with network installation
- Ensure that all equipment is fully functional and update documentation as required.

- Ensure that all issues resolved are well documented and if required update both the 1st line and 3rd line support structures and the standard procedures manual.
- Support Network team with support functionality and training of users on VOIP phones system.
Requirements
- Tertiary or related IT qualification (advantageous) N+ / A+
- Preference will be given to candidates with five-plus years network experience
- In-depth understanding and practical knowledge of networking systems such as LAN, firewalls, SD-WAN, Access Points, routers and routing.
- A good understanding of computer hardware and terminology
- Effective written and verbal communication skills

Network Engineers perform hands-on installation and maintenance tasks on network components such as routers, switches and cables on the core networks.
Network Engineers monitor and optimise core network activity. They constantly maintain and improve network security by setting up firewalls, and they’re also responsible for troubleshooting problems as and when they arise.
Key Performance Areas would include, but are not limited to:
