The role :

Working with a roster of repeat clients in your local area, you will provide care and support that is respectful, dignified, safe, and encourages independence, in accordance with each individual's support plan.

Services include :

• Personal care: showering, dressing, grooming, and medication assistance
• Social support / transportation for social activities, shopping / groceries, medical appointments
• Domestic assistance: light household cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation
• Supporting customers in the use of aids and personal equipment
• Supporting customers with complex and/or challenging needs
• Monitoring customer well-being and reporting on their progress
• Providing updates on customer progress following each service

About you :

• Caring, compassionate, and friendly
• Good interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
• Reliable and dependable
• Ability to build rapport and good working relationships
• Comfortable using technology (e.g., mobile app) for accessing rosters and recording notes/feedback

What you will need :

• Certificate III in Aged Care, Disability, or Individual Support, or equivalent
• At least one year of experience in Community Aged Care, Disability, or Healthcare
• Current and clear Criminal Record Check
• Current Working with Children Check
• Current CPR / First Aid Certificate
• Current Australian Driver's Licence
• Reliable, registered, and fully insured vehicle
• Smartphone with internet access

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 3 Healthcare Assistant within our busy Colposcopy unit at Wycombe Hospital, part of Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust.

You will be part of a leading service for early cervical cancer detection in Buckinghamshire. A colposcopy is often performed following abnormal cervical screening results caused by human papillomavirus (HPV), which can lead to cervical cancer.

1. Ensure clinics are prepared and ready to provide efficient, professional services.
2. Communicate with patients and visitors to promote comfort and well-being.
3. Coordinate with team members and respond appropriately.
4. Perform basic observations: blood pressure, pulse, height, weight, urinalysis, and accurately record results.
5. Assist with specimen collection for laboratory analysis and forward specimens as directed.
6. Act as a chaperone when required to protect patient and colleague interests, maintaining patient dignity and privacy.
7. Advocate for patients.
8. Manage own workload and prioritize tasks.
9. Assist with manual handling and patient transfers in accordance with Trust policies.
10. Report accidents or incidents to the nurse in charge and complete necessary documentation.
11. Guide patients to other wards or departments as needed.
