R&D Technologies is seeking a reliable, technically skilled Field Technician to join our team. This is a full-time position for someone who is ready to work immediately and committed to delivering excellent service.
We install instant hot water systems across Cape Town and surrounds. If you are hands-on, professional, and available to start right away, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
- Install instant water heaters, taps, and accessories at residential and commercial sites
- Perform basic plumbing and electrical connections (COC not required)
- Travel to customer locations in Cape Town and surrounding areas
- Follow daily job schedules and update records via our mobile system
- Collect and return tools and stock to the Bellville store each day
- Deliver outstanding customer service and uphold company standards on every job
Minimum Requirements
- Must be available to start immediately
- Valid South African driver's license
- No criminal record (this will be verified)
- Must be able to travel to and from Bellville daily
- Basic plumbing or electrical background
- Able to use a smartphone (for job tracking and reporting)
- Professional, punctual, and trustworthy
Preferred (Not Required)
- Experience installing showers, geysers, or plumbing fixtures
- Previous experience in a customer-facing technician or field service role
Remuneration
- Starting Salary: R6,000 – R8,000 per month (based on experience)
- Performance-based increases and bonus opportunities after probation

- Only candidates who are ready to start immediately will be considered
- Daily attendance at our Bellville branch is required
- This is a full-time, field-based position (not part-time or remote)

Keeping CRM tickets up to date – from initial assignment to completion of support request.
Working closely with the service/support desk to make sure appointments are managed and client expectations are met.
Ensure technical best practice is used for all products and services installations.
Ensure all installation deadlines are met.
Ensure adequate communication of risks, issues and progress to Projects and Operations.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Grade 12.
- Own reliable transport and valid driver’s license.

- PABX certifications.
- Solid networking knowledge – installation, configuration, and maintenance of network devices (layer 2 and 3), which include switches, wireless access points and network access control applications.
- Network configuration knowledge must include creation of VLANs, packet tagging, configuration and testing of STP and QoS and troubleshooting ability.
- Solid VoIP knowledge – installation, configuration and maintenance of VoIP based PABX systems and call centres.
- Working knowledge of different provider links and last mile connectivity.
- Good communication skills and ability to build strong working relationships with all levels of staff and clients.
- Good planning and organisation skills.
- Sense of urgency and desire to get the job done on time and according to the highest standard.
SALARY:

The FSE will be responsible for configuring and installing VoIP PBX systems and to provide a high level of technical support to external customers while working under minimal supervision.
