Overview
Channel Manager Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) role at FNB South Africa. The SEO Manager is responsible for planning, executing, and optimizing SEO strategies across multiple digital platforms to drive organic growth and improve search engine visibility. You will own end-to-end SEO initiatives—from strategy and implementation to performance measurement and continuous improvement—and collaborate with content creators, developers, and stakeholders to apply SEO best practices.
Responsibilities- Plan and execute comprehensive SEO strategies to increase organic traffic and achieve measurable business goals.
- Conduct advanced keyword research to identify high-value opportunities aligned with business priorities.
- Perform detailed competitor and market analyses to uncover trends, opportunities, and gaps in the search landscape.
- Stay ahead of search engine algorithm changes and evolving SEO best practices to proactively adapt strategies.
- Monitor and report on key SEO performance metrics, providing actionable insights and recommendations.
- Independently optimise website content and metadata for target keywords while ensuring a seamless user experience.
- Collaborate with content creators to integrate SEO best practices into content strategies.
- Conduct technical SEO audits to identify and resolve site performance issues (speed, mobile usability, structured data, etc.).
- Work with developers to implement technical fixes and ensure scalable SEO solutions.
- Contribute to cross-functional collaboration to ensure effective implementation of SEO strategies.
- Promote knowledge sharing within the team and stay current with emerging trends in digital marketing, technology, and AI.
- Bachelor’s degree equivalent to NQF Level 7 in marketing, communications, or a related field.
- Other digital marketing or analytical qualifications are advantageous.
- 3–5 years of experience in SEO.
- Solid understanding of advanced SEO principles, including on-page optimisation, link building, technical SEO, and content strategy.
- Proficiency with common SEO tools for keyword research, website audits, and rank tracking (e.g., Google Search Console, Google Analytics, or similar).
- Strong ability to analyse performance data and translate insights into actionable strategies.
- Practical knowledge of HTML/CSS and understanding of website architecture.
- Experience collaborating with content, UX, and development teams to deliver integrated SEO solutions.
