Job Description
To manage the processes, teams, and resources for port operations, contributing to operational effectiveness, client/customer satisfaction, reduced risk, profitability, and compliance with relevant policies and regulatory requirements.
Duties & Responsibilities- Execute own work and team work according to set operating procedures and service level agreements.
- Ensure continuous client interaction, communication, and feedback.
- Ensure complaints are handled effectively.
- Provide oversight over the port operations function and ensure port operations adhere to their service level agreements.
- Interact with transporters and service providers in port on a regular basis and ensure a good working relationship is maintained.
- Provide strategic input into the planning function to ensure delivery schedules are planned and executed in a cost-effective manner.
- Ensure that deliveries are monitored and expedited, that exceptions are raised and escalated, and the input data is collected and captured accurately.
- Identify opportunities and gaps on site to improve operational performance.
- Ensure KPI reports are updated, accurate, and distributed as per the requirement.
- Provide leadership to the team, create a positive working environment, and ensure the team is performing to the highest standard.
- Specific knowledge of the container flow and mills consumable products and documents to plan and ship with relevant documentation.
- Specific ability to process documentation required to clear Imports and invoice/process Exports/Consumables.
- Knowledge and ability to source documents from overseas and local – Internal- for purposes on time.
- Clearing Consumables and Invoicing Breakbulk material.
- Strong knowledge of INCO-TERMS.
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Logistics Management/Supply Chain Management and Marine Services.
Skills and Experience Required
- Up to 5 years of experience in a similar environment, with at least 2 years tactical leadership/specialist experience.
- Advanced MS Office skills.
- Proficient people management and development knowledge and/or skill. Knowledge and understanding of the management and development of people, optimizing their outputs and effectively managing relationships, in order to achieve organizational goals.
- Time Management.
- Flexible approach to working conditions and working environment changes.
- Self-starter, self-motivated, energetic, and enthusiastic worker.
- Effective team player.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure that planning engineering and land suitability studies are conducted to help RBIDZ identify suitable land for acquisition.
- Consult with authorities to determine legislative constraints of land parcels.
- Assess the serviceability of the land (location from utilities).
- Plan effectively for RBIDZ's land portfolio.
- Manage and maintain all land parcels owned by RBIDZ.
- Establish and maintain bulk infrastructure through effective planning.
- Oversee the design of engineering infrastructure for all RBIDZ land parcels in compliance with relevant legislation and quality standards.
- Participate in stakeholder forums and build partnerships with stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain the RBIDZ master plan.
- Develop and maintain the infrastructure plan.
- Develop and implement a maintenance strategy and plan.
- Manage security and customs control areas effectively.
- Develop and implement an integrated security strategy.
KNOWLEDGE
- Extensive knowledge of property and infrastructure development, including project management.
- Knowledge of construction industry legislation and CIDB regulations.

- 4-year Degree in Civil Engineering / Built Environment disciplines (mandatory, NQF 8)
- 5 years post-qualification engineering experience in a heavy industrial or construction environment
- 5 years of relevant senior management experience
