  • International Business Expansion:
    • Research and identify potential international markets for organisation’s services.
    • Establish and nurture relationships with international clients, partners, and collaborators.
    • Develop and implement strategies to enter and expand the company's footprint in international markets.
  • Customer Engagement for RFQs:
    • Meet with existing and potential customers regularly to understand their needs and challenges.
    • Cultivate relationships with clients to obtain Request For Quotations (RFQs).
    • Collaborate with internal teams to prepare and submit comprehensive and competitive proposals.
  • Digital Marketing Oversight:
    • Oversee publications on the company's various social media platforms.
    • Ensure the content aligns with the company's brand, values, and business objectives.
    • Engage with the audience and respond to inquiries or comments as needed.
  • Sales Assistance:
    • Collaborate with the sales team to assist in closing top tenders.
    • Maintain a keen focus on achieving and maintaining sales Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
    • Provide support in negotiations and contract finalization to secure business opportunities.
  • Market Analysis and Planning:
    • Conduct thorough market research to understand the dynamics of target regions and international markets.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align business development strategies with the company's overall goals.
  • Proposal and Presentation:
    • Prepare compelling business proposals and presentations for clients, showcasing the company's capabilities and value proposition.
    • Engage in negotiations and close deals to secure new business opportunities.
  • Reporting and Analysis:
    • Regularly report on business development activities, market trends, and key performance indicators.
    • Analyse the success of strategies and make data-driven recommendations for continuous improvement.

    Reporting to: Managing Director

    Our client, a leader in accredited training and learnership solutions, is looking for a Business Development Consultant to spearhead client acquisition, build strategic partnerships and drive revenue through consultative sales aligned to B-BBEE goals.

    Key Responsibilities

    1. Client Acquisition & Pipeline Development

    • Proactively research and identify new business opportunities aligned to the company’s strategic focus (Agri, ICT, etc.)
    • Conduct cold calling, lead nurturing and follow-up to convert leads into qualified prospects
    • Maintain a healthy and well-documented sales pipeline using an established sales funnel methodology
    • Initiate and manage discovery meetings, presentations and sales engagements with potential clients

    2. Strategic Sales & Solutions Design

    • Engage with HR, transformation, procurement and executive stakeholders to understand client B-BBEE strategies
    • Position the company’s accredited training and learnership offerings as high-impact B-BBEE solutions
    • Collaborate with internal teams to package tailored proposals that align to sector codes and transformation goals

    3. Account Management & Client Success

    • Build and maintain long-term relationships with key accounts to drive retention, referrals and upselling
    • Provide ongoing support to clients and act as liaison between client stakeholders and the company’s operations/delivery teams
    • Track client milestones to support evidence for B-BBEE scorecard claims

    4. Proposal Development & Reporting

    • Prepare compelling, accurate and timely proposals and quotations
    • Track and report weekly/monthly activity including:
    • Meetings held
    • Revenue generated
    • Proposals submitted
    • Pipeline value (qualified leads)
    • Maintain CRM records and sales documentation in line with company standards

    Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

    • Monthly Revenue Target (to be confirmed)
    • Number of qualified client meetings per month

    • Value of sales pipeline (with conversion forecasting)
    • Client retention and satisfaction levels

    Collaboration & Support

    • Work closely with operations and delivery teams to ensure client expectations are met and exceeded

    Requirements

    • Minimum 3 years in B2B consultative sales, preferably in the training or B-BBEE space
