Do you have a passion for streamlining and optimising processes and driving efficiency? Our client, a giant in the Retail space in Africa, is searching for a top-notch Process/Industrial Engineer to join their Supply Chain team.
In this dynamic role, you’ll be the go-to guru for all things process improvement. You’ll analyse, design, implement, and optimize processes across the entire supply chain, ensuring optimal resource utilization and peak performance.
Here’s what you’ll do:
- Process Powerhouse: Analyse existing processes, identify areas for improvement, and develop and implement strategies for optimization.
- Project Leader: Spearhead crucial supply chain projects, driving continuous improvement initiatives that boost efficiency and performance.
- Data Detective: Collect, analyse, and interpret data, proactively identifying and resolving issues to ensure KPIs are consistently met.
- Reporting Rockstar: Compile, coordinate, and publish reports that provide valuable insights and drive informed decision-making.
- Communication Champion: Liaise effectively with various stakeholders across departments, keeping everyone informed and aligned.
We’re looking for someone with:
- An Industrial Engineering Degree: Your technical expertise will be key to optimizing processes.
- 3+ Years of Experience: A proven track record of success in a process/industrial engineering role is essential.
- Retail Savvy (Bonus Points!): Experience in the retail industry will give you a head start in understanding the unique challenges.
- Supply Chain /Logistics knowledge and experience would be ideal
- Project Management Prowess: You’ll be able to manage projects effectively from start to finish.
- Lean & Sigma Skills (Bonus Points!): Experience with these methodologies will be a valuable asset.
- Tech-Savvy: Advanced proficiency in Google Workspace, Looker Studio, and SQL is a must.
- Team Player & Independent Thinker: You can collaborate effectively while also driving projects forward independently.
- South African Citizen: This is a requirement for the position.

Key job responsibilities
Build review routines with the local business, including roll-out and training on related tools

• Establish controllership and approval mechanisms to manage day-to-day profitability
• Invent, simplify, and automate management reporting, working closely with owners in business and Business Intelligence teams across the Amazon world
• Provide strategic guidance, tactical direction, and decision support to business and finance partners

A day in the life
As a Finance Managers at this level, you take a hands-on role to boost our business performance and efficiency. You establish tight controls over our financials and develop a deep understanding of the mechanics behind our data, ensuring financial reporting is always accurate. You’ll collaborate with partners in different areas worldwide to provide insights on improvements in our operational performance. That will involve deep diving into data, managing our planning processes, and giving team members guidance on more ambiguous areas of our financial environment.- 5+ years of multiple finance and accounting roles experience
- 6+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience
- Experience performing ad hoc analysis using advanced Excel
- Experience building and managing financial models for business forecasting and problem solving- MBA, or CPA
- Knowledge of SQL/ETL
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
- Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results
