Sales Representative
We are looking for a skilled Sales Rep with a background in FMCG , or the Hardware and Sealant industry preferably, to join their team in Cape Town, WC. We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Sales Representative based in the Western Cape. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a proactive attitude, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. This role involves obtaining orders, ensuring excellent customer service, merchandising stores, and participating in promotions.
Responsibilities- Call on existing and potential new customers within the Western Cape, primarily Cape Town central, southern suburbs, and the West Coast region (some travel required i.e. to Hermanus etc.)
- Take orders at store level and ensure they are sent to the administrative office.
- Resolve customer service queries.
- Provide client account feedback.
- Merchandise stock in stores as needed.
- Participate in promotional events, which may include occasional weekend work.
- Respond to customer emails and queries.
- Share product knowledge with customers, and train client sales staff.
- Assist in developing and implementing sales and marketing strategies, plans, and campaigns.
- Maintain and update sales leads, customer information, and other relevant data.
- Submit daily field reports to the sales manager.
- Proven experience as a Sales Representative.
- Own reliable vehicle not negotiable – petrol will be covered
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Valid Code B driver’s license.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a critical thinking approach.
- Team player with a positive attitude and adaptability to new challenges.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Familiarity with the FMCG industry and a passion for staying updated on industry trends.
- Some weekend work may be required from time to time.
- Experience in the Hardware / Wood Sealant industry is preferable
- Afrikaans proficiency is advantageous
