RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Talent Acquisition

    Responsible for the entire employee life cycle process for new staff members at all levels for the Company, including recruitment, selection and onboarding. Liaise with management regarding interviews and ensure that interview guides utilised is in conjunction with the required skill set.

    Ensure all relevant recruitment documentation is completed accurately and in full and pre-employment checks are completed, these include but are not limited to: Employment Reference Checks, Application Forms and Recruitment Checklist Forms.

    Ensure that the recruitment documentation is submitted and completed in a timely manner for sign-off by the Human Resources Manager.

    Build a business relationship and work closely with approved Recruitment Agencies ensuring that recruitment is completed within the given timeframe.

    Ensure that the right person is recruited at the right time for the right job in accordance with applicable legislation and in accordance with the Employment Equity Plan.

    Ensure job descriptions and performance management documents are in place and maintained for each employee.

    Ensure that the correct termination process is adhered to and all relevant documentation is completed accurately and submitted for sign-off by the Human Resources Manager.

  • Human Resources Advisory Services

    Assist management regarding probation and performance review periods.

    Act in an advisory capacity to management and the workforce, ensuring that all HR related matters are dealt with according to the HR processes and in accordance with applicable legislation.

    Educate and provide training to management and the workforce regarding policies, processes and work-related changes.

    Liaise with management regarding absenteeism and act in an advisory capacity regarding the appropriate action to be taken or appropriate solution to the problem.

  • Industrial Relations

    Act as a first line advisor to management and employees in terms of all disciplinary, (progressive and corrective), and grievance matters.

    Assist management with misconduct and incapacity investigations. Ensure that managers implement corrective action as advised.

    Ensure that discipline is maintained and applied fairly and consistently in the workplace.

    Provide support to management in managing performance and assist in the analysis of plans to resolve any identified performance problems.

    Arrange and ensure disciplinary, appeal and grievance hearings are scheduled and managers are adequately prepared for the hearings.

  • Reports and Administration

    Ensure that all HR Reports are accurate, updated and maintained on a weekly basis, these include but are not limited to: Recruitment Tracker, IR Report, Elto Towers Excellence Cup Report and any other report/s as and when required.

    Ensure that all personnel files are up to date with applicable information as per LRA stipulations.

    Ensure that all probation / performance reviews are updated on a monthly basis and that all relevant documentation is received from the respective managers.

  • HR Projects

    Assist with various HR projects and ensure managers understand the processes by training, coaching and mentoring.

  • Perform ad hoc tasks as and when required.

Overview

Job Summary: To develop and establish proactive Human Resources function that actively supports the Resort in achieving its business goals. To manage a team of motivated and well-trained individuals. Responsibilities

  • To provide an internal consultancy service to management on all employee relations matters.
Financial
  • Control the Human Resources budget ensuring that costs do not exceed budget.
  • Sign off monthly payroll.
  • Ensure departmental compliance with head count levels and operational requirements.

Health and Safety
  • Ensure that Resort and statutory health and safety standards are maintained at all times.

Training and Development
  • In conjunction with the Training Manager, carry out a regular training needs analysis and to develop training plans in line with the business objectives.
  • In conjunction with management, ear mark key players within the business for succession plans, ensuring their development to reach business goals.
  • Ensure all new employees, trainees or those on a departmental familiarization program are properly introduced to the working of the department and receive comprehensive and accurate training.
Communication
  • Ensure the constant flow of information through all areas.
  • To hold monthly communication meetings with colleagues and to ensure all relevant information is communicated to the management.
  • To assist and participate in all communication meetings in order to discuss all new changes and practices taking place and discuss any problems or suggestions in the department.
General
  • To recommend updates of business policies and procedure, in order to maintain high standards and provide the best possible service to clients, and implement improvements where required.
  • To oversee any complaints or problem solving within the department, and to be available to offer guidance or assistance where necessary.
  • Be familiar with the colleagues handbook, house rules and have the necessary IR knowledge.
  • To ensure disciplinary action is followed out within the guidelines of the South African labour law.
  • Implement and drive Employment Equity and related BBBEE scorecards within the Resort.

      • Ensure that the recruitment documentation is submitted and completed in a timely manner for sign-off by the Human Resources Manager.
      • Build a business relationship and work closely with approved Recruitment Agencies ensuring that recruitment is completed within the given timeframe.
      • Ensure that the right person is recruited at the right time for the right job in accordance with applicable legislation and in accordance with the Employment Equity Plan.
      • Ensure job descriptions and performance management documents are in place and maintained for each employee.
