About Argon Steel: Argon Steel is a well-established hardware and steel supply store based in Athlone Industria. We pride ourselves on providing top-quality steel and welding products to our customers, and we're looking for a dedicated and reliable Receiving/Dispatch Clerk to join our team.
Job Description: We are seeking an experienced and proactive Receiving/Dispatch Clerk to manage the administrative tasks related to receiving, despatch, invoicing, and goods received vouchers (GRVs). The successful candidate will be an organized, detail-oriented individual with a strong work ethic and a passion for supporting operations to run smoothly.
Key Responsibilities:
Receiving: Oversee the receipt of stock deliveries, ensuring all items are correctly documented and inspected.
Dispatch: Coordinate and monitor the dispatch of products to customers, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries.
Invoicing: Generate and process invoices for sales, ensuring that all orders are invoiced correctly and in a timely manner.
Goods Received Vouchers (GRVs): Manage the GRV process, ensuring that all goods received are matched with purchase orders and appropriate documentation.
Stock Management: Assist in maintaining accurate stock records and assist in stocktaking as required.
Customer Service: Provide support to customers regarding orders, deliveries, and invoicing queries.
General Admin Support: Provide general administrative support to the operations team and management as required.
Qualifications & Skills:
Minimum of 2 years' experience in a receiving/dispatch clerk role, preferably in a warehouse or retail environment.
Strong knowledge of invoicing, stock management, and GRV processes.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.) and any relevant admin software.
Excellent organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Strong communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.
Ability to handle a fast-paced work environment with changing priorities.

The position of Receiving and Dispatch Controller has become available at Triton Express in Cape Town. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining inventory counts and quality control procedures for incoming and outgoing products.
Responsibilities include:
- Process Data Capturing: Capturing waybills and POD data; issuing agent waybill numbers, printing manifests, and obtaining signatures.
- CODs, Preparing Quotes, and Collection: Entering client waybill and delivery requirement details as dictated by Freightware; providing client quotations; contacting clients for parcel collections, verifying waybill numbers via system, collecting/delivering, cash payments, and releasing goods.
- Supervising Pre-delivery Loading Procedures: Collecting and sorting waybills according to route requirements; checking cargo for damages, shortages, and verifying waybills against cargo stickers; creating scanning numbers; scanning parcels into trucks; supervising cargo loading and handling safety compliances; liaising with clients as required.
- Monitoring Delivery and Collection Procedures: Conducting bay checks, investigating no deliveries, completing daily bay schedules; monitoring collections and providing instructions; responding to queries; liaising with clients; monitoring vehicle activity via satellite tracking.
- Supervising Inbound Freight Received Services: Verifying inbound freight; supervising sortation; capturing waybills; ensuring schedules are debriefed; verifying airfreight lodging; scanning inbound freight; handing cargo to Senior Supervisor.
- Supervising Outbound/Dispatch Services: Processing freight upliftment; scanning parcels; printing trip sheets; supervising loading; obtaining driver acceptance signatures; ensuring collection follow-ups; verifying PODs.
- Supervising Vehicle Debriefing/Off-loading Procedures: Directing parcel sorting; verifying waybills; scanning parcels; recording cheques; verifying documentation.
This role requires a detail-oriented individual with experience in logistics and dispatch operations, excellent communication skills, and the ability to supervise multiple processes efficiently.
