- Qualification as Nuclear Medicine Radiographer
- Current registration with HPCSA
- Own reliable transport
- Availability to be on call and to work after hours as required
- Sound knowledge of hot lab operation and maintenance, radiopharmaceutical administration and nuclear medicine imaging procedures
- Skill and patience in patient care and communicating with patients
- Knowledge of and attention to radiation protection, infection control and all other aspects of patient- and staff safety in a nuclear medicine department
- Knowledge of quality control and care of gamma cameras and other nuclear medicine equipment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team and to take on administrative and reception tasks as required

Job Description
A vacancy exists for a Senior Radiographer in Nuclear Medicine , based at Life Vincent Pallotti Hospital in Cape Town, reporting to the Practice Manager, Ansu Fourie. The incumbent will be responsible for providing high-quality service to both inpatients and outpatients. Responsibilities include Nuclear Medicine procedures, quality assurance, and related administrative and management duties. The successful candidate will work as part of the Nuclear Medicine multidisciplinary team, delivering services in accordance with professional standards of practice.
Critical Outputs- Schedule patients for Nuclear Medicine procedures
- Prepare patients for scheduled procedures
- Prepare rooms and equipment before radiology procedures
- Perform procedures qualified for
- Perform hotlab procedures and radiopharmaceutical preparations
- Manage stock, including ordering radiopharmaceuticals and supplies
- Handle administrative tasks related to business operations
- Lead and participate in staff reviews and communication
- Maintain health and safety standards
- Complete monthly reports
- Conduct routine equipment inspections and quality assurance
- Serve as radiation protection officer, ensuring SAHPRA compliance
- Process invoices and purchase orders via SAP
- Stay updated with current techniques and participate in training
- Maintain good relationships with colleagues and staff across departments
- Degree/BTech in Nuclear Medicine Radiography
- Registered with HPCSA and CPD compliant
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in Nuclear Medicine
- Ability to work weekends and overtime as required
- Own transport and valid driver’s license
- Experience in nuclear therapy is advantageous
