Job Summary/Purpose
- Provides direct oversight, coaching and support to Project Controls Specialist throughout the project lifecycle.
- Integrates with and supports Project Management team as needed to ensure successful execution of assigned projects.
- Ensures comprehensive project cost, schedule, scope, and risk controls are implemented on Entergy projects and helps ensure projects have reliable cost and schedule estimates and achieve business goals on time and to budget.
- Ensures contract agreements reflect project controls requirements and that contractors implement controls in line with those requirements where they are utilized for elements of the project.
- Supports project reporting and regulatory reporting as required.
- Promotes safe behavior and adherence to the safety rules on the project.
- Implements all Project Management Standards in the area of cost, schedule, scope, WBS, and risk and issues management for assigned projects.
- Performs rigorous and independent project assessments of projects within Entergy's project portfolio to ensure compliance with Entergy's SGP and project management standards; serves as a SGP Gate Reviewer.
- Conducts training on the Entergy SGP, project management standards/implementation guides and various project controls disciplines, such as Quantitative Risk Analysis (QRA)
- Assists in the performance of analysis, optimization, and reporting on Entergy project portfolio including assessments of risk associated with completing planned scopes of work according to multi-year budget plans.
- Works with Cost Analysts assigned to projects to prepare and maintain the required cost reports and forecasts.
- Performs schedule analytics to determine the quality of the schedule and to perform progress assessments.
- Monitors and reports on compliance with schedule related contractual requirements by contractors.
- Validates the Estimate to Completion and Estimate at Completion forecast.
- Prepares contingency analysis and report on contingency status.
- Collaborates with the project manager and other project team members to identify, characterize and document project risks in a risk register and develops mitigation plans in accordance with the Standards.
- Works with the project manager and other project team members to manage the Change Management process and document clearly throughout the project lifecycle; documents and tracks approved project changes.
- Work is performed in both an office setting and in field conditions.
Minimum education required of the position
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management (or related field) OR 8 years equivalent/related work experience (in addition to the Minimum Experience requirement) in lieu of a degree.
Minimum Experience Required Of The Position
- 6 years minimum capital project management and/or project control experience with project controls focus. Utility capital project experience essential.
- Desired: Project controls experience on large scale capital projects.
- Desired: Experience of project controls implemented on projects executed under various types of contract agreements including EPC. Both contractor and owner construction project controls experience.
- Superior knowledge of the fundamentals of scheduling, cost control, and risk management.
- Superior knowledge of scheduling software packages and related analytics.
- Superior skills with spreadsheet based analytics.
- Knowledge of project and construction management fundamentals.
Preferred: Certifications from PMI and/or AACEi

- Demonstrable experience in working on construction site, engineering office, fabrication sites, etc. to support project teams.
- Demonstrates experience in working with EPC Contracts.
- Demonstrates excellent written and verbal skills.
- Cost, Schedule, Reporting Change Management, Contract Management and Risk Management Skills.
Ability to lift 25lbs overhead.

- Execute and lead automation design teams of complex scope, and coordinate activities with other disciplines as needed

- Lead development design and continuous improvement of configuration, programming, networking, and diagnostic standards;
- Lead design of controls for centralized chilled water plans condenser water plants, etc
- Qualifications for Control System Engineer
- BA / BS in Engineering or relevant degree a Huge Plus
- Licensed PE / EIT / Certifications a Plus
- Data Center Engineering experience with Automation and Controls Experience
- Experience integrating PLC / ALC with complex data center / mission critical facilities
- 5 + years with BMS / BCM / BAS Systems (Building monitoring systems / building control systems / Building Automation Systems
- Previous experience working on Controls Products from companies such as: Johnson Controls / JCI; Siemens; Automated Logic; Honeywell; GE Control Systems; Schneider Electric
- PLC / ALC Programming Experience
- Experience with Controls systems design as it relates to: Critical HVAC equipment (Chillers, Air Handlers, CRAC / CRAH units, Boilers, etc.)
- Experience working with common BAS protocols BACnet IP, BACnet MSTP, Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP, etc.
