Role Purpose

To provide guidance in the implementation, installation, configuration, and testing of system software on all relevant mainframes to code and automate tasks that optimize processing aligned to business requirements.

Are you someone who can :

  • Manage user roles, permissions, and access across Jira and Confluence.
  • Act as the first line support – the primary point of contact for Jira / Confluence-related inquiries.
  • Perform daily capacity and health checks.
  • Handle software maintenance and customization.
  • Manage Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, WINS.
  • Create batch schedules and change orders.
  • Code basic JCL and automation scripts.
  • Support batch FTP processes and create FTP encryption data with development.
  • Analyze and modify batch schedules as needed.
  • Control unauthorized intrusions from outside entities.
  • Manage the FNB Group corporate server infrastructure.
  • Provide system administration and maintenance experience.
  • Train and guide users on best practices.
  • Create and manage workflows, fields, screens, and schemes in Jira.
  • Develop and implement Confluence spaces, templates, and macros to improve documentation.
  • Conduct regular permissions and activity log audits.
  • Collaborate with teams to understand requirements and translate them into configurations.
  • Document system configurations, workflows, and best practices.
  • Optional: Create automation rules using Jira Automation and scripts to streamline processes.
  • Develop custom dashboards and reports for teams and management.
  • Analyze system usage and suggest improvements.
  • Demonstrate excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

You will be an ideal candidate if you :

  • Hold a relevant Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Possess Control M / O / R certification (preferred).
  • Have 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar environment.
  • Have prior experience with batch scheduling or related software.
  • Have experience in program/batch monitoring, troubleshooting, and analysis.
  • Possess knowledge of monitoring and command center operations.
  • Have data processing and infrastructure knowledge.
  • Possess operating systems knowledge, with Redhat Certification being a plus.

  • Provide practical guidance on employee relations cases—like misconduct, underperformance, or grievances.
  • Help managers follow the right steps and document issues carefully.
    Encourage early, values-based resolution while ensuring fairness and compliance.
  • Keep records well-organized and ready for audit where needed.

Capacity Building and Training

  • Design and deliver training programs for franchisors and branches on program implementation, quality assurance, and operational processes.
  • Identify capacity gaps within the network and propose tailored support to address them.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement across the network

Monitoring, Reporting, and Continuous Improvement

  • Work with the Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MERL) team to track progress, measure impact, and identify opportunities for improvement within the network.
  • Support network partners in preparing and submitting performance reports, ensuring data accuracy and compliance with SmartStart standards.

Requirements

Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience in the Early Childhood Development (ECD) sector or education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Education, Business Administration, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • At least 5-7 years of experience in program implementation, operational management, or technical support, preferably in the NGO or social enterprise sector.
  • Excellent training, coaching, and mentoring skills, with a proven ability to work with diverse teams.

    • Remote IT Network troubleshooting and support, predominately layer 2;
    • Logging and updating calls via the ticketing system;
    • Interaction with other providers and service providers;
    • Interactive relationship with management;
    • Maintenance of Security, IT and Environmental networks on all sites;
    • Maintaining Wi-Fi on all sites including monthly wi-fi health reports;
    • Maintain the Network backup tool;
    • Involvement in the design of the network & maintain network documentation;
    • Configuring, Installing and maintenance of network switches;
    • Management & implementation of Clearpass switch configurations & implementation of device configuration updates;
    • Comply to all policies and procedures, including strict compliance to Teraco’s information security policies and procedures;
    • Identification & escalation of information security risk, as it relates to network and other areas of responsibility;
    • Incident response and management; Problem resolution within agreed timelines;
    • Afterhours user support, as per the standby roster.

    Qualifications And Experience

    • Matric;
    • Technical qualification /IT Diploma - CCNA/ACMA certified; CCNP advantageous;
    • Minimum of 2 years’ work experience in a networking technical support role;
    • Accustomed to working in a high-energy environment;
    • Windows Server and Windows 10/11 experience - advantageous
    • Technical competence and understanding is vital;
    • Valid South African Driver’s License;
    • Basic understanding of Network Security
    • Excellent understanding of switching and routing and their related technologies - TCP/IP, IP Addressing, CIDR and DNS. STP, VPN technologies, OSPF, ZTNA, SDN.

    • Willing to work extended hours/shifts
