Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serves patients by greeting and helping them, scheduling appointments, and maintaining records and accounts.
- Welcomes patients and visitors in person or on the telephone and answering or referring inquiries.
- Optimizes patients satisfaction, provider time, and treatment room utilization by scheduling appointments in person or by telephone.
- Keeps patient appointments on schedule by notifying provider of patients arrival, reviewing service delivery compared to schedule, and reminding providers of service delays.
- Comforts patients by anticipating patients anxieties, answering patients questions, and maintaining the reception area.
- Ensures availability of treatment information by filing and retrieving patient records.

- Obtains revenue by recording and updating financial information, recording and collecting patient charges, controlling credit extended to patients, and filing, collecting, and expediting third-party claims.
- Maintains business office inventory and equipment by checking stock to determine inventory level, anticipating needed supplies, placing and expediting orders for supplies, verifying receipt of supplies, and scheduling equipment service and repairs.
- Helps patients in distress by responding to emergencies.
- Protects patients rights by maintaining confidentiality of medical, personal, and financial information.
- Maintains operations by following policies and procedures, reporting needed changes.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Greeting patients professionally both in person and on the phone
- Quickly answering or properly referring questions and issues

Qualification and Requirements:
- Matric
- Diploma in Administration or office administration (beneficial)
- Experience in a similar medical receptionist position is essential (Minimum 2 years)
- Experience with medical billing will be advantageous
- Strong knowledge of ICD10 & RPL coding is essential
- Computer literate (MS Office)
- Experience in VeriClaim & Goodx medical software is advantageous
- English and Afrikaans (verbal & written)
Responsibilities for Medical Receptionist
- Welcome patients, vendors, pharmaceutical representatives, and other visitors to our medical office.
- Scanning pertinent patient information into EMR including patient authorizations, recent labs delivered by patients.
- Issue specimen collection containers to patients as needed.
- Answer patient questions and aid them with directions when necessary.
- Preparing superbills and specimen labels for next day's patients
- Track all phone calls that arrive using our general office number.
- Utilize our medical office software to schedule new and follow-up appointments for our patients.
- Respond to emails that arrive using the general office email address.

The post is a combined training position between Kalafong Provincial tertiary Hospital and the University of Pretoria. The successful candidate will be expected to work in Dermatology for four (4) years and will have to perform after hour calls. Preference will be given to South African citizens and candidates who already completed part one (1) of the FCP examination. Responsibilities Primary Responsibilities- Client service, training, on-site client assistance and account collection.
- Preplanning of on-site client visits based on analysis of book and their challenges;
