POSITION SUMMARY

As an Account Director you lead large, more complex projects, armed with your experience and proven ability to think and do. You are able to problem solve, and create highly effective and fruitful working relationships with clients and colleagues, collaborating with other business units within our business and across teams. PR & Influencer marketing

The role includes boosting media coverage opportunities to meet client KPIs, being present at client-media interactions. Collaboration with the business development team, the head of the newsroom, head of influence and the managing director is vital to preemptively manage any potential issues that could impact the client negatively.

The influencer marketing aspect requires a solid track record of working with diverse influencers. A strong of understanding local influencers for brand collaborations, and contributing to the influencer strategy for each campaign and project. The role also entails leading negotiation on high profile influencer fees and contracts, overseeing project scope and approval processes.

Building client relationships

Has a relationship with mid level clients that is one of trusted partner, based on proven track record of delivery.

Is able to confidently lead influence conversations and problem solve in the moment as required, and act as a point of escalation for junior clients.

Understands the strategic, and business context the client is operating in and uses this knowledge to develop solutions and approach tasks in a way that is effective for the client

Leadership

We are seeking a dynamic Sales and Marketing Manager: New Business, to lead the growth and commercialisation of Sheshaan exciting world's first raw sugarcane-based energy drink, developed by Womoba, a subsidiary of SA Canegrowers, as well as develop other innovative ventures!

Womoba exists to further profit initiatives and ensure a sustainable cane growing sector for generations to come. One way we bring this purpose to life is through our story of Shesha

Hand-harvested and carefully peeled high-quality sugarcane stalks, are crushed to form the base of Shesha, our natural sugarcane and fortified energy drink. Shesha is currently available in 300ml cans, and comes in four exciting flavours: Original, Lemon & Lime, Ginger Beer, and Orange. Give one a try!

Our aim is to position Shesha for long term success in both the local and export markets, delivering a measurable impact for both the organisation and the broader sugarcane grower community

The role will also run a rural resilience project by assessing what other new ventures contribute to economic growth for small sugarcane growers and entrepreneurial businesses

This position reports to the Manager Technology and Innovation

In this role, you will:


  • Lead the marketing and sales strategy to establish Shesha as a commercially successful brand


  • Manage product launch, distribution, and expansion into local and regional markets as well as export markets


  • Manage timelines, budgets and oversee the fullproduction and sales cycle
  • Build digital and traditional campaigns, partnerships, and PR initiatives to drive brand awareness
  • Develop and manage distribution and retail partnerships including e-commerce platforms
  • Deliver measurable impact by driving sales growth, economic development, and rural resilience
  • Identify and mitigate FMCG specific risks including supply chain, market regulatory and ESGrisks
  • Present regular progress reports and insights to the Womoba Board and SA Canegrowers Board as required
  • Assess the viability of access to market initiatives for grower entrepreneurs, relating to Shesha
  • Facilitate the shift from subsistence to entrepreneurial thinking, linking entrepreneurial growers (and other small enterprises) to supply chains

Minimum Requirements:


  • Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) in Business Management, Marketing, or related qualification
  • Proven experience in brand development, sales and marketing strategy, and product commercialisation
  • Track record of launching and scaling products in competitive markets (FMCG preferred)
  • Experience in enterprise development or incubation programs
  • Strong skills in sales planning, budgeting, and cross-functional coordination
  • Familiarity with export market strategy is a plus
  • A valid driver's license

The Senior Social Media Coordinator is responsible for developing and executing our brand marketing strategies and creative campaigns. This role involves creating and publishing content on all social media platforms, including Facebook, X, Instagram, LinkedIn, and TikTok, to grow our audience, build brand awareness, and boost sales.

What You Will Do
  • Develop and execute marketing strategies and creative campaigns.
  • Attend relevant events for networking and business purposes.
  • Develop content ideas, write, and curate content.
  • Research industry experts, competitors, target audiences, and users.
  • Brainstorm new, creative influencer campaign approaches.
  • Stay updated on emerging trends, technologies, and social media platforms.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to create and coordinate marketing strategies across channels.
  • Manage the team’s daily workflows and ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Monitor team deadlines and report progress to the Head of Department.
  • Set and manage goals and budgets on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Test campaigns, analyze metrics, and identify opportunities to improve performance.
  • Monitor activity, analyze performance, and recommend enhancements to social presence.
  • Willingness to work within other digital marketing functions such as email, SMS, affiliate marketing, and SEO, with a desire to learn and expand knowledge.
Communication
  • Keep team members informed of key campaigns, updates, and marketing initiatives.
  • Follow proper communication channels and provide timely feedback to support offices.
People Management
  • Manage team schedules and workload distribution, considering peak periods and departmental needs.
  • Oversee staff attendance and conduct behavior management with guidance from the Social Media Manager.
  • Ensure recruitment documentation is submitted promptly to HR.
