Job Description
My client in the manufacturing industry is seeking a Qualified Engineer to look after their Production Engineering Projects in our factories. This person will be responsible for, amongst other duties:
Duties include:
- Responsible for all machine and plant maintenance
- Working with the Production team to ensure reliable machine and plant performance
- Identification and achievement of measurable technical and process developments and improvements.
- Ensure critical spares are in stock and managed effectively.
- Ensuring engineering excellence in the Plant
- Ensuring a safe working environment by ensuring Safety Best practices
- Ensuring Housekeeping and all standards are consistently maintained.
- Working on continuous improvement projects on the line in partnership with Production
Minimum requirements:
- Engineering Degree (BSc/BEng Mechanical/Electrical, Industrial or Mechatronics’) essential
- 2 - 3 years’ experience in an Engineering role in a Manufacturing environment, preferably packaging or FMCG related
- An understanding of Continuous Production processes would be advantageous
- Logical and critical thinking skills essential for this position
- Happy to work in a Production environment/ Factory floor-based position

The Process Engineer will design, implement and improve processes to enhance quality, efficiency and sustainability. A key focus of the role will be to analyse existing processes, identify area of improvement and implement changes to optimise operations. The role analyses workflows, develop process improvements and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION
Relevant Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering or other relevant qualification
EXPERIENCE
At least 5 years relevant experience in similar position and/or level, in Automotive Manufacturing
Advantageous – Press and Weld Background
TECHNICAL PRE-REQUISITE
Proven working experience in Process engineering
Relevant software knowledge to design, simulate and analyse processes
Strong engineering fundamentals
Experience with Production Processes and quality
Ability to design and implement control systems to regulate process parameters
Safety Knowledge
Ability to run simulations and analyse test data.
ISO 9000, ISO14000
OHS Standards

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Process Design and Optimisation -Develop new processes and improve existing process to increase efficiency, reduce costs and improve quality
• Process Improvement – Identify areas for improvement in existing processed, implementing changes and monitoring the effectiveness
• Process Analysis – Study existing process to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies and areas of improvement.
• Quality Control – ensures processes meet quality standards, through testing, analysis and the implementation of quality control measures
• Process Documentation – Creating and maintaining documentation for all processes, including work instructions and SOP’s
• Process Implementation – Oversee the implementation of new or modified processes , ensuring they meet safety standards
• Trouble Shooting and Problem Solving – Address technical issues and implement solutions to ensure process stability and reliability.
• Data Analysis – ability to analyse data, identify trends, optimise performance and improve decision making.
• Collaborate with cross functional teams , including production, maintenance and quality to control and achieve process goals.
• Continuous Improvement – Identify opportunities for process improvement and strategies to enhance efficiency and performance
• Safety – Prioritising safety in all aspects of process design and operation, ensuring safety that processes are safe for employees

- BEng Industrial/Mechanical or Chemical Engineering Degree or equivalent.
- 5 years' experience with processes in an FMCG manufacturing environment is essential.
- Lean Manufacturing.
- Six Sigma.
- Expert knowledge of all plant processes.
- The ideal candidate should have experience in fermentation, baking, brewing or any related food chemical environment.

- Monitor and report on progress of the project to all stakeholders.
- Perform risk assessments, FMEA, HAZOPS, Hazardous Areas Classifications (HAC) & LOPA
- Develop Functional Design Specifications (FDS) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
- On site commissioning of plant and equipment including mechanical completion verification, punch listing, cold & hot commissioning, performance acceptance testing (PAT) and final handover
