Logistics Manager

As a Logistics Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of logistics operations to ensure the efficient and timely movement of goods and materials.     Implement best practices and new technologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.

Main responsibilities

Logistics Planning and Optimization

  • Develop and implement comprehensive logistics strategies to support the company's supply chain and distribution needs for Lesaffre South Africa, Aries Baking Supplies, and Bakelab
  • Analyze historical data, forecast demand, and plan logistics operations to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of products
  • Optimize transportation routes, resource utilization, and inventory management to improve efficiency and reduce costs
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align logistics activities with production, sales, and customer requirements

Operations Management

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the logistics department, including transportation, warehousing, and distribution

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards related to logistics and transportation
  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions

Vendor and Carrier Management

  • Evaluate and select reliable logistics service providers, such as carriers, freight forwarders, and warehousing partners
  • Negotiate favorable rates and terms with vendors and carriers, and manage ongoing relationships
  • Monitor the performance of logistics service providers and address any issues or concerns
  • Collaborate with vendors and carriers to optimize logistics processes and explore new opportunities

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency, reliability, and cost-effectiveness of logistics operations
