OBJECTIVES (main duties and responsibilities)

Client Acquisition and Relationship Management :

  • Identify, engage, and develop relationships with prospective clients in the fresh produce industry.
  • Conduct thorough market research to identify potential areas and clients for business expansion.

Sales Process Management :

CRM Utilisation :

  • Use HubSpot CRM to track and manage all sales activities, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records of client interactions, sales progress, and forecasts.
  • Generate and analyse sales reports from HubSpot to identify trends, measure performance, and make data-driven decisions.

Customer Support and Follow-Up :

  • Provide exceptional post-sale support to ensure customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Follow up with clients to ensure they are effectively using the SaaS platform and address any issues or concerns promptly.

Collaboration and Communication :

  • Work closely with the account operational team to ensure a clear handover and implementation of new clients.
  • Collaborate with the product development team to relay client feedback and contribute to product improvement.
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with the sales manager and other team members regarding sales activities, challenges, and successes.

Market and Industry Knowledge :

Training and Development :

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

Formal Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Agricultural Economics or a related field.
  • Driver’s licence (This role will include travelling).

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Strong negotiation and closing skills.
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in using CRM tools, specifically HubSpot.
  • Excellent problem solving and organisational ability.
  • Ability to travel extensively and manage a travel schedule effectively.
  • Proven ability to be part of a team and collaborate across departments.
  • Ability to work under pressure.

Job Related Experience

How You’ll Contribute

  • Develops sales strategies to grow revenue from existing and new sales opportunities. The role is predominantly focused on driving net new revenue.
  • As the primary client contact, with strong expertise in identifying CBIs, you will work with clients to understand CBI's and position TU as partner to jointly solve problems.
  • Facilitate ideation and white boarding sessions with clients to optimize share shift opportunities.
  • Maintains an agile market and competitor awareness to identify opportunities and maximize penetration in markets held by the competition and foster partnerships with new and existing customers
  • Research the clients’ business, financials and market to identify and capitalise on net new revenue opportunities. Engages in dialogue with clients sharing newsworthy insights and articulate customer value drivers in light of our value proposition.
  • Become a subject matter expert in TU Africa solutions & products.
  • Interacts across all levels in the client organization.
  • Understands TU's workflow and value chain in order to build successful internal relationships to aid client delivery.
  • Maintain knowledge of current industry trends and business needs to proactively work with clients to identify and understand CBI's. Understand competitive landscape and offerings to differentiate the value of TU's solutions.
  • Consistently shares newsworthy insights about the market, educating clients on new issues and outcomes.
  • Understands TU workflow and value chain, understand internal client delivery processes in order to ensure client satisfaction.
  • Work closely with Product, Analytics, Sales and other departments to influence product strategy and roadmap to best support client account initiatives.
  • Maintains all customer records in Salesforce CRM database.
  • Develops and manages a 30 day forecast and 60-90-120 day pipeline within CRM.
  • Provides weekly and monthly forecasts to management.

What You’ll Bring

  • Degree or Diploma will proven solution selling experience within the financial sector. 4-5 years of progressive experience in a consultative selling context and business development.
  • Demonstrated sales experience in selling data driven solutions.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing key account plans.
  • Eagerness to learn complex solutions to enable successful development of sales opportunities.
  • Must be well organized with excellent negotiating skills, combined with superior oral and written communication skills, with a temperament to aggressively represent, persuade others and negotiate in the best interests of the company.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects with varying due dates and requirements.
  • PC literacy – Microsoft – specifically PowerPoint and Excel.

Job Purpose

To proactively provide a central point of communication for customer service and the operational link between KAMs, Clients, and all business partners while achieving & sustaining service excellence

Key areas of responsibility include:

Proactive day to day order management:

  • Ensure that all orders received on or before 15h30 are processed on day received.
  • All orders received post 15:30 to be captured the following day
  • Communicate any changes with Vital and CCT
  • Management of Special Request processes
  • Removal of all 1970 Errors
  • Saving of orders on P-Drive
  • Laison of EDI rejections, Late orders, Late bookings, unclear order copies and Pricing
  • Locate orders for delivery on designated days
  • Management of Pallets Configuration

ZOA and Order Management:

  • ZOA reports to be managed at a minimum of 3 times per day, orders on hold, shipping requirements pricing, etc
  • Manage outstanding orders and reports

S tock Management:

  • Management of Cut Authorization processes.
  • Check stock availability and co-ordinate urgent deliveries where nominated delivery days were missed
  • Ensure stock allocation per customer order
Pricing:

  • Escalation of all price variances between SAP and Customer Copy to KAM
  • Sales Coordination via email with needed refreshing of order being completed

Uplifts:

  • Accurate management of uplift process
Good Returned:

  • Management of Customer Service order return-related processes in line with reason codes in conjunction with GRA department
Key Customer Requirements:

  • Management and implementation of customer requirement per key identified customers
Reports:

  • VA05(daily and/or weekly where applicable)
  • Daily Order Analysis
  • Strike Rate report submitted weekly for PnP and Makro clients
  • Report sent weekly on Fridays
  • Zoo report updated daily

Ad hoc

  • Raise any potential issues to other areas of the business and proactively resolve any issue raised
  • Communicate to relevant customs and stakeholders efficiently and timeously
  • Provide feedback on delivery issues to customers efficiently and timeously
  • Handling of all customer complaints effectively and timeously
