This role will be based in Durban North.
Job & Company Description:
The purpose of this role will be to provide support for the business through the finance function, working closely with the current Financial Manager. You will also be responsible for transactional and journal control and recons, as well as maintaining the fixed asset register and WIP balances. Other main duties will include budgeting and forecasting for projects and adding cost control, as well as flagging / raising items for attention of senior management.
The successful incumbent will have a strong understanding of a project-based environment, for example construction and building, engineering or civil industries.
You will report to the Group CFO and Group CEO, as well as the Divisional Financial Manager.
- Diploma or Degree in Finance or Accounting essential
- 5 to 7 years' experience within a full finance function position
- Construction / building / engineering / civil industry experience, and understanding of a project-based environment essential
- Knowledge of Sage essential
- Experience with systems and process implementations essential

A well-established company in the waste and recycling sector is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Financial Controller to safeguard its assets by ensuring all financial and management accounting processes are executed in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and internal policies. This role oversees the maintenance of all financial records, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments across multiple sites.
Duties:
- Compile and analyze monthly reports, including sales, purchases, waste stock, diesel, bailing wire/twine, bags, and cashbook reconciliations.

Key Responsibilities Financial Reporting & Month-End
