Senior Accountant / Finance Manager

An established company based in East London is looking for a Senior Accountant / Finance Manager to lead the financial aspects of the business and to be a part of the Operational team.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Commerce
  • Completed articles (highly advantageous)
  • Previous experience in a commercial environment (highly advantageous)
  • Finance Management experience (highly advantageous)

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the full accounting function
  • Processing cashbook up to Financial Statements
  • Budgets, costing, cash flow projections
  • VAT
  • PAYE
  • Payroll
  • SARS submissions and liaising
  • Oversee Debtors and Creditors, reviewing work

KPA’s :

1. MANAGEMENT REPORTING
  • Prepare monthly management reporting packs (Facilities, Debtors, Leasing Fill reviews, Property Management monthly meeting)
  • Prepare, review and communicate partner packs as applicable to the region
  • Ensure all Regional KPA information is tracked, captured, reported on and developed
  • Assist Regional Head with reporting back to Asset Management on performance of properties / portfolio
  • As an MDA user, liaise with Asset Management to ensure data accuracy and report discrepancies and omitted data
  • Prepare and ensure adherence to weekly reporting inputs by various regional functions
  • Prepare weekly regional monitoring reports to assist with effective management of the portfolio
  • Conduct ad hoc investigations and reporting as required by Regional Manager
2. FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT
  • Implement regional processes according to functional area policy
  • Ensure regional mandates / delegated authorities are in place, and decisions are made and implemented according to mandates and controls
  • Control and manage regional assets appropriately
  • Manage regional office administration effectively – HR, general office management, attend monthly IT Manco
  • Support Central Finance with reporting and queries
  • Manage petty cash and submit monthly reconciliations

Role Overview

Property & Portfolio Financial Oversight

  • Monitor and analyse financial performance of regional property portfolios against budget and benchmarks
  • Investigate anomalies or underperformance at property level as requested by the Regional Head
  • Contribute financial insights and reports for strategic initiatives and key operational focus areas
  • Collaborate with Asset Management on annual budgets, forecasts, and capital expenditure reviews
  • Track and oversee regional Capex budgets, including loading and reviewing Capex projects on MDA
  • Ensure alignment and support between regional operations and centralized finance or support functions

Management & Performance Reporting

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date tracking of KPAs for the region and ensure timely and structured reporting
  • Support the Regional Head in compiling performance reports for Asset Management
  • Ensure MDA financial data is accurate; raise and address discrepancies with relevant departments
  • Coordinate weekly reporting submissions from all regional finance-related functions
  • Develop weekly monitoring dashboards and metrics to drive effective portfolio management
  • Conduct ad hoc analysis and reporting as required by senior management

Regional Financial & Operations

  • Ensure all financial decisions adhere to delegation of authority and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain oversight of regional office financial and administrative functions (HR liaison, IT Manco attendance, office operations)
  • Act as primary regional point of contact for Central Finance regarding reporting queries and data accuracy
