About the role:
The Engineering Manager is responsible for the development and on-time delivery of all technical aspects of a Product (or part thereof), in accordance with the Product plan, which should meet or exceed Nintex’s quality standards. This person will lead the optimize and recommendation team. This team will work with other Nintex teams, especially our data platform team. The aim is to supply insights and recommendations based on their processes and automations.
This role is hybrid in Johannesburg.
Your contribution will be:
Engineering
- Ensure your team writes correct code (e.g., C#, NodeJS, semantic HTML, pipeline YAML, etc.), following Nintex standards, guidance, and training materials.
- Know the core concepts in the Service Reliability strategy and manage your team’s services to SLOs and SLIs.
- Work closely with Product Management and User Experience Designers to define required product features and behavior in detail, sufficient to create the required design, resourcing, and development plans.
- Monitor new code and designs to identify where test coverage needs adjustment. Make sure that the test requirements are met and integrated into pipelines appropriately.
- Champion quality, making sure it is a priority in your team and across projects.
- Follow security best practices, oversee the creation of secure code, and lead teams in threat modeling.
- Understand and run your team according to agile principles and use data (velocity, burn down, etc.) to track status and improve team performance.
- Maintain unobstructed vision of the risk factors in your workload including the amount of change introduced, cross-discipline developments, cross-product integrations, or the introduction of new development tools and methodologies.
- Identify opportunities and contribute to initiatives that reduce and standardize tooling to streamline our processes, “ways of working” and reduce overhead.
- Collaborate with Product Management to prioritize user stories in line with the product roadmap and to plan product release timelines.
- Oversee the development of all product features in your domain in a manner that meets delivery commitments.
- You play your assigned role in the Incident Management process, including contributing where your technical and problem-solving skills apply, and also creating space for your staff to engage as the incident’s impact level requires.
- Coach, support, and enable team members in achieving personal growth and career objectives.

Experience Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years industry experience.
- Communication and report writing skills are required, along with the ability to work with clients to develop new and existing business opportunities.
- Good knowledge and experience record in delivering geological/geotechnical projects using applicable standards and principles.
- Experience in the application of relevant geological and geotechnical software packages (such as gINT, Leapfrog, Rockscience software, GIS, etc).
- Experience in geotechnical investigations including data gathering, site characterisation, formulating ground models, sampling, analysis of ground conditions and laboratory results, and report writing.
- Skill and experience in geological/geotechnical analysis and providing inputs into design.
- Demonstrate experience of working across multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
- Demonstrate commercial and project financial awareness, including the preparation of proposals and bid submissions.
- Experience in managing small projects will be advantageous.
- The ability to provide mentoring and technical guidance for younger graduate engineering geologists would be a recommendation.
- Proactive communication skills to work with colleagues and other design teams.
- Ability to communicate confidently and professionally with all levels of staff and clients.

The ideal candidate must have completed a Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. This role requires at least 10 years’ experience in engineering and maintenance in a manufacturing environment. Must have experience with working with computerised maintenance management systems as well as managing high level project management of large CAPEX investments. Prior experience working on MS Office such as excel would be an advantage, SAP and PLC knowledge is a must.

Job Purpose :
- The Learning and Development Strategist will be responsible for identifying skills gaps, developing comprehensive training programs, and ensuring continuous employee growth. This role emphasizes technical training, leadership development, and change management support while collaborating with key stakeholders to enhance workforce capabilities.
REQUIREMENTS
- Diploma in Human Resource Management, Learning and Development, or a related field
Minimum applicable experience (years) :
- 5-7 years
Required nature of experience :
- Learning design and delivery of training solutions in a corporate environment
- Understanding and learning new and complex industries to provide technical training
- Imparting knowledge to adults and assessing their understanding
Skills and Knowledge (essential) :
- Strong instructional design and program development skills
- Ability to conduct needs assessments and gap analyses Proficiency in stakeholder engagement and collaboration
- Quick learning ability and knowledge transfer skills
Other :
- Proficient in Afrikaans and English (bilingual requirement)
- Must reside within 40km of the office
- Stable career record
- Registered as an assessor (preferred)
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
Strategic Planning and Collaboration
- Collaborate with senior leadership to identify organisational learning needs and skills gaps.
- Develop a training roadmap for new and existing staff in partnership with department heads and HRM.
- Conduct needs assessments and gap analyses to prioritise learning opportunities.
- Ensure personal upskilling on business products within the first two months to deliver technical training.
Program Design and Implementation
- Lead the creation of learning programs for leadership, technical skills, and power skills development.
- Develop training manuals in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
- Oversee the delivery of scalable and accessible learning programs for all employees.
- Implement assessment tools to evaluate knowledge transfer and application.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Build strong relationships with key stakeholders to understand their L&D needs.
- Tailor learning programs to meet specific departmental requirements in collaboration with HRM.
- Facilitate interactive workshops and training sessions across all staff levels.
- Support WSP / ATR planning and submission alongside HR.
Technical Training and Change Management
- Coordinate and oversee regular technical training on products and processes by internal specialists.
- Ensure staff comprehension of technical training content. Develop and implement content to address concerns during departmental or process changes.
- Work closely with HRM to support change management initiatives.
Continuous Improvement and Best Practices
- Provide strategic insights and recommendations on L&D best practices.
- Stay updated on industry trends to enhance learning solutions.
- Ensure alignment of L&D strategies with business objectives.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs for ongoing improvement.
