Main Purpose :
Field Engineers are based at a central location at the Customers location. Engineers will provide ticketed services to Customers for Desktop Laptop and peripheral equipment.
Job role including; Maintains analyzes troubleshoots and repairs computer systems hardware and computer peripherals. Documents maintains upgrades or replaces hardware and software systems. Supports and maintains user account information including rights security and systems groups as required .
Responsibilities
- Deliver repair services to Customer staff through a ticketed process no ticket no support.
- Previous knowledge of the automotive industry would be beneficial
- Experience of End User Support and ability to work as member of a team is a must
- Field incoming help requests from end users via both telephone and work orders in a courteous manner.
- Document all pertinent end user identification information including name department contact information and nature of problem or issue.
- Build rapport and elicit problem details from help desk customers.
- Prioritize and schedule problems. Escalate problems (when required) to the appropriately experienced technical level.
- Record track and document the help desk request problemsolving process including all successful and unsuccessful decisions made and actions taken through to the final resolution.
Qualifications
Professional knowledge and qualifications required :
- Speaks and writes in English to a good level also can converse in loacl language (Afrikaans).
- Previous knowledge of the automotive industry would be beneficial
- Experience of End User Support and ability to work as member of a team is a must
- Any College degree ideally within IT
- Experienced in all forms of MS Windows based personal computing devices and associated peripherals
- Acquires job skills and learns / adheres to company policies and procedures. Complete routine tasks pertaining to computer hardware software or operating system support.

- Any IT Certification
- A certification or similar
- OEM / Vendor courses and / or Understand / experience of working with Dell Desktop / Laptop HP Desktop / Laptop / Printer Lenovo Desktop / Laptop Lexmark Printer IBM Printer

What we are looking for in you
- Extensive experience with Linux (Ubuntu preferred), Kubernetes, Ceph, software automation

- Daily interfacing with doctors and technicians on equipment status issues.
- Acting to ensure satisfaction to primary customers, maintaining daily communications with them to ensure resolution and proper follow-up, leading to customer satisfaction.
- Keeping up to date on administrative responsibilities such as maintaining customer service logs and internal service records in a timely manner.
- Maintaining tools and test equipment properly and ensuring they are calibrated.
- Identifying Sales opportunities and communicate to account team and assists in the growth and direction of business in assigned geographic area.
- Working as a member of the local team to provide efficient and cost effective service delivery to all accounts with assigned area.

- Ensureing timely completion of FMIs and PMS inspections documentation for assigned accounts.

- Maintain effective quality systems and programs compliant with ISO 9001 standard, according to the GE Service Quality Policy Statement.
- Holding a National Diploma, B-Tech Degree, or equivalent qualification.
- Strong technical and analytical capabilities.
- Advanced experience in Field Services; expertise in Ultrasound is desirable.
